CarryOnBecky (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Monday, 12th March 2001, 18:29

Im considering getting one so is there anyone who has a opinion on these machines. Also are they multi-regional. My magazine says they are not.

the LG 3200E that i own is fine for the price i paid for it (129.99 from Big W).

Good picture and multi-region via the remote control hack.

I have an LG3200E and for the money it is probably the best quality budget player on the market. If all you want is to play DVD`s then this is the beauty for you.

I`ve had no problems with it apart from Toy Story box set and the 3rd bonus disk, apparently LG are upgrading the firmware and will replace my 5 month old player with a brand new one FOC. LG customer service is the best ! can`t fault the player, can`t fault the service, I would recommend one to anyone.

Some of the info - hack included - for the 3350E applies also to the 3200 and the 3000 (depending on firmware), so have a look at:

Nope, the 3200 and 3000 cannot handle CDR or MP3.
The Aiwa question is a little backward, the Aiwa 370 is a rebadged LG3350 without the bookmarking features and the Dolby Digital decoder.

More info on http://choosefirst.co.uk

AIWA 370 (officially) ROCKS!!!!!!!!

I have a 3350, and I`ve been very pleased with it. The 3350 does play CD-R and RW.

I can`t give you a side by side comparison of picture etc., but the 3350 does have an onboard decoder, if that is any use to you.

The hack is easy - just don`t slow down while you are typing it in.
