RE: What`s the best joke you`ve heard recently?
Go this text message of a friend, very tasteless, but funny.
Just been to the sex shop and got a palestinian sex doll, as soon as I got on the bus it blew itself up.
RE: Your Worst Fashion Mistakes
It`s funny how fashion changes. During my early teens in the early 90`s I wouldn`t have been seen dead in the old 80`s fashions. Nike and ADIDAS were THE things to be seen wearing. I wouldn`t have been seen dead in a pair of Gola trainers, but now I`ve just spent a few hours looking for a really cool pair of retro Gola trainers which are very cool. It won`t be long before we`re calling the stuff we wear today Retro!
RE: Aerosmith question
Yep, unfortunately it`s the "Making of Pump" and apparently doesn`t feature much music, just documents them in the studio.
I hope we`ll get a good videos DVD eventually or a live concert DVD.
It`s just such a shame that there`s the situation of their songs being owned half and half between Columbia and Geffen which is probably the reason why we haven`t seen anything yet.
On a good note Geffen and Columbia got together to release the O` Yeah! Ultimate Hits CD last year, so maybe they might collaborate on a DVD release?
RE: rules of attraction R3
They are the Hong Kong R3 versions so it`s hard to find out. These are produced bu the Universe Laser company in Hong Kong. Believe it or not these DVD`s retail for between two to three quid in HMV Hong Kong and can vary in quality. They are not legally supposed to be sold out of Hong Kong and are produced cheaply to counter piracy in the territory.
I went nuts whilst I was in Hong Kong last year and bought quite a few of these. I had mixed experiences. Got the likes of Monsters Ball, The Others and The Man Who Wasn`t there, all very high quality, however Very Bad Things, Play It To The Bone and Deep Rising were very bad transfers.
At the end of the day, it`s only £5.99 so just buy it and find out.
RE: A music question for all
Band of the 70`s - Queen, not into their music personally, but will admit they had some good hits.
The Band of the 80`s, even though they never had very much success over here would definetely be Aerosmith, although they reinvented themselves and produced their best album in 1990/91.
Anyone who doesn`t own their greatest hits, buy it because it`s excellent if you like your blues/jazz inspired rock `n roll.
Band of the 90`s - gotta be Oasis from a personal point of view, they reinvented British Rock `n Roll and no matter what people think of them, their first two albums go down in Rock `n Roll History. Agree with U2 also, but I think their a lot like The Rolling Stones, i.e Massive amounts of album sales, but only a handful of decent tunes. They certainly didn`t do as much for music as Oasis did in the 90`s and are only successful because the American public liked a few songs, and took them to their hearts.
That`s just my opinions, so no flaming please.
RE: `Airplane` and `Airplane 2`...£12.99 for the pair of them!!!
Nice one!
Some classic lines in the first Airplane!
Ted Striker: "My orders came through. My squadron ships out tomorrow. We`re bombing the storage depots at Daiquiri at 1800 hours. We`re coming in from the north, below their radar."
Elaine Dickinson: "When will you be back?"
Ted Striker: "I can`t tell you that. It`s classified. "
Rumack: "You`d better tell the Captain we`ve got to land as soon as we can. This woman has to be gotten to a hospital."
Elaine Dickinson: "A hospital? What is it?"
Rumack: "It`s a big building with patients, but that`s not important right now."
RE: biggest shock death?
Donny (Steve Buscemi) in The Big Lebowski. Not exctly a shock, but you grow to like the character and feel sorry for the guy because he`s told to "shut the f*** up" throughout the movie and his demise is just so unexpected.
RE: What is your opinion of Burnley?
Being a Blackburn Rovers supporter I can definetely say that the Burnley fans are scum-bags
RE: Can anyone reccommend a Japanese CD e-tailer with english web page?
Cheers
Don`t think I`ll bother though. The CD price isn`t too bad itself, £12.80, but shipping is about £7.50 which is just ridiculous considering CDWOW can deliver for free from Hong Kong.
RE: WH Smith In store offers
American Pie - £5.99
Can anyone reccommend a Japanese CD e-tailer with english web page?
Says it all really.
I`m after the new stereophonics album, want to import the Japanese version with the extra track, but I`m not going to pay the £30 most british based sights want.
Some very good R1 combo deals from Future Entertainment
Just noticed that future entertainment have some cheap R1 discs, they`re still a bit more expensive than what you`d pay from DVD Soon, but the cheapest place you`ll be able to get R1`s shipped from the UK. Especially for those of you without credit cards.
http://www.futureent.com/dvd/studios.php
Basically you get £2 off each DVD when you buy in multiples of THREE from their list.
£1 off for multiples of TWO.
These are 20th Century Fox and Buena Vista discs.
RE: Goodfellas - Is there a SE in the pipeline?
There`s a special edition rumoured for November, I`m also holding out for it.
It`s definetely coming out because Irvin Winkler, the producer claims he has recorded a commentary track for it some time ago.
RE: AC Milan/Juventus - In Manchester
I heard Juventus were staying in Bolton, training at the Reebok stadium. Don`t know if there`s any truth in that.
RE: Recommend a new motor
Get a Golf TDI, they`re better than the GTI, and only topped by that new model VW have out with 6 gears.
RE: So are Sheff UTD already promoted?
The whole play-off thing is an absolute joke. What justice is there for a team finishing third being beaten on the day by a team that finished sixth.
It`ll be even more of a joke if the football league has its way and extends the playoff to teams finishing in 9th place.
RE: 24: Season Two - I have some info in my grubby paws
Lets just hope the deleted scenes are any good.
Personally I thought the Season 1 Alternate Ending was rubbish and looked like it had been filmed purely as an effort to stick "Alternative Ending" as a feature on the DVD box set.
Will definetely be buying this, thanks for the info.

RE: Disney to Begin Renting `Self-Destructing` DVDs
So in other words, they`re prepared to let you buy a movie for around £4 if it`s self destructive, proving that it doesn`t cost as much as they say to produce DVD`s ( I know it`s not the standard format, but close enough) but if you actually want to own the film, you have to pay £15.
Obviously the technology is slightly different, but I can`t see them being radically different in production costs, and they`ll probably be released in Cardboard covers, but in my opinion this just goes to show how we`re all being ripped off when the average high street shopper pays upwards of £18 to own a DVD.
Can`t see this working to be honest, and as other people have mentioned, not the most environmentally friendly method iif they are to be stockpiled in rubbish dumps.

RE: Whats the most blatant product placement you`ve ever seen in a movie???
8 Mile - one big Eminem Advert
Is anyone else addicted to Championship Manager?
I don`t play games apart from this (mainly because my PC won`t run anything decent), I can easily play this for 3-4 hours without realising.
How`s everyone else doing with Champ Man 4? The 2D is good, as long as it`s set only to Key incidents. A little too easy though, especially if you`re a cheat and get your assistant to pick the team.
If you`re playing D1 or lower half of the Premier League, Eddie Pope(Defender) of Columbus Crew is an excellent signing, doing a great job for my team and is dirt cheap.
Anyone have quality bargain players?

RE: Stand at new Man City ground could be named "Bell End"
Lucky they don`t have a purple strip. Can just hear the commentators saying "The Bell End in all it`s purple glory erupts with joy!"
RE: Welcome To Collinwood r1 ft/s
Out of interest what does the ft/s mean? Is that a French cover?
RE: Seeing as you didn`t like it that much
Still haven`t seen that yet, so maybe it is, maybe it isn`t. Will definetely check it out sometime.
RE: Seeing as you didn`t like it that much
It`s weird how so many people have different opinions on the Coen`s work.
I actually thought Fargo was excellent but was dissapointed with The Man Who Wasn`t There.
The Big Lebowski is the best IMO. "Am I wrong?"
RE: Fave album you`re listening to at the moment?
Elephant by The White Stripes
RE: Does anyone know if `Titanic` will be re-released?
Maybe that one sank without a trace!
RE: S**t scared of flying, what should I do?
Agree with you there Nick, it`s a control thing.
I myself am a control freak, and I am s*** scared of flying. It`s just the feeling of sitting there like a shmuck and not knowing what`s happening that does my head in.
I must say though an excellent thing that cured me on a long haul flight with Emirates last year was the fact that they have a forwards pointing and downwards pointing camera which you can view on the small entertainment screen. At least you know what`s going on at take-off and landing.
I suppose it`s a dumb thing to say, but my mind was at rest knowing that if we were about to crash, at least I`d see what was going to happen before kissing my arse good-bye!
