try moving every electrical item (within reason) as far away from the

Don`t laugh, but mine has got to be SPAWN, I got it in one of those 2 for £22 offers at Choices.
I managed to get rid of the DVD by p/x it !!

Even the guy at the shop where I exchanged it commented on how
crap the film is.

Thanks for the tips guys, I searched all of our local record stores
(HMV, MVC, Our Price et al) in vain.

As for the other 2 disks, apparently they are only available on
R1 at present, fingers crossed for R2 versions soon.........

Metallica DVD

Hi there,

Does anyone know where I can get hold of :-
Black Album DD5.1 Version
A Year In The Life Of... (on one disk apparently)
Cliff `Em All

I`ve got the latter two on VHS, but after aquiring S&M and Cunning
Stunts on DVD, I can`t bear to subject my TV to wobbly sound and
dodgy picture again!!.

Hi there,

Try setting the switch at the back to PAL, then go into
the setup menu and select PSUEDO PAL, this may
help.

If not, try selecting NTSC on the back of the player.

BTW, what TV do you have ? is it NTSC 60Hz compatible ?
I recently had to return a TATUNG 28"W/Screen because it
wouldn`t accept a 60 Hz signal from my Dreamcast, when I tried
a 60 Hz signal the picture shifted halfway across the screen!!
This also happened when I tried a R1 DVD, but was remedied when
I selected PAL & PSUEDO PAL settings

I`ve had mine for a couple of months, and I`m well impressed
especially considering the setup costs £170.

A PC mag that I read rated it 8/10 compared to
Creative`s unit (6/10) and £100 dearer.

See if you can get one demo`d, to help make your mind up.

Yep, pretty much agree with you, except for a few problem disks which
cause the thing to lock up, forcing a reset.
Spoke to the people who apparently change the player for a new firmware
model, but still no new player. been waiting approx 4 weeks.

I just hope that the newer firmware is hackable !!

No, seriously, it sound very good considering the price, the sound is very clear especially in DTS mode (Gladiator) and it`s great in DD5.1.

Our living room is probably 16` X 12` and it fills it very well without the need
to smack the volume up beyond say 1/4 of the total available.

Go on, go and treat yourself, there`s no need to spend £300 plus unless
you really have to have the best of everything.

Have you tried the other method of hacking?
My 3200E has version 1.2 firmware, I also tried the
"Power ON, NO DISK, PAUSE, 314159, Region CODE, Pause, Power OFF" trick, it didn`t work on my machine. I scoured the net and found
another method, same as above but press STOP before you press PAUSE. It works on mine.

yep, thats the baby, apparently they`re exclusive to PC World, but
don`t let that put you off !

Got mine from Merry Hill (Dudley, West Mids) but all of the branches
should now stock them.

Simple, go to PC World and purchase the Yamaha system that they have
It supports Dolby Digital & DTS via coaxial / optical cabling.
Cost ? £169 smackeroonies

I got one last week in a very fetching shade of black.
You get 5 small satellite speakers, a sexy sub, and a nice little
amp.
