Just bought one myself...and LOVE it.

I exchanged from a Panasonic DMRE50 that I had a few problems with.

The JVC`s user friendly interface is what grabbed my attention first, nice and easy to use. Recording quality onto a RAM is excellent, with an easy time-slip (or whatever JVC call it) facility. MP3 and JPEG viewing are simple and also easy to use. Picture playback is fab, and CD`s sound defined and full...not tinny like the Panasonic.

Just one thing...No Multi-Region hack for it :( but i can live with that.

No. The hack doesn`t work on the advertised Region 2 machines as they have an older non-hackable firmware, hence they`re now around £30 to buy. The newer versions can be hacked

Their "open box" sale is on November 16th. Last time I got a Sony DVPNS700 multi-region for £99.95!!!!!!

You just don`t get prices like that anywhere else do you?

i learned the hack from a one-for-all remote of "a retailer" onto my learning remote control. It`s `aux` then 1,2,3,4,5 power off/on twice then voila! i don`t know which magic codes were used though on the one-for-all.

I also bought one...it played most of my RCE discs...but not ALL of them. When testing another in the shop this seemed to be an inherent problem on certain DVD`s with the `220. I swapped it for an Aiwa 480 after comparing the two in a demo room, this has a great picture and plays ALL my RCE discs.

Toshiba SD210 - A Possible Hack?

1.power up the player
2.press `SET UP` on remote
3.change the tv system to `AUTO` (default is PAL)
4.go to `PARENTAL` and press enter
5.choose `OFF`, the type 2,8,3,0 then `ENTER`
6.exit parental menu
7.disconnect the player from the mains,wait 30 seconds
8.when powered up, the player should be code free

I`ve got an 8210 handset with my old Orange pay-as-you-go sim from an old nk402. The place I went to unlocked the phone by typing in *#92702689# on the keypad. They supposedly `unlocked` the new handset in front of me. I can`t remember if they did anything else or not.
