Slightly off topic,

maplins are selling the following normally £79 includes free postage and packing www.maplin.co.uk (on opening page). Richersounds are selling the asimilar item for £79

Description:

8 Way LCD Panel Learning Remote Control

This is an absolute bargain! If you`re fed up with remotes lying around and want a good all in one remote, then this is the one. It can take over from 8 different remotes, it lights up in the dark, if you point it at your old remote it will learn its signal so you don`t have to look up any codes, but best of all...

Order Code - NZ27
Saving - £30.00
Inc Vat - £39.99

I believe (someone put me right on this if I`m wrong) that this is like a UCommand 515 (from http://www.crispsolutions.com). Searching on Google for e-pilot remote or ucommand 515 brings up tons of reviews.

This will not help replace a remote that you`ve lost unless you can borrow one from someone else that works on your system, since the remote has no pre-programmed signals (i.e. it must learn them all, and if you don`t have the original remote this will be difficult! That said it sounds like it`s really easy to program, and reviews have said that it takes under an hour to program in a whole set of systems!)

Cheers,

Phn

Hi,

Got mine this morning its a great looking unit. However what ever I try, I just cannot get it to work with my NTL Digibox (Pace). It works great for every other remote device I have except this one!

Any of you have any ideas? I`ve asked Maplin`s helpline and I am waiting to see if they respond.

Thanks in advance guys!

the remote wont work with pace digiboxex because they use irda to transmit the control signals, most remotes use plain ir.afaik there are no universal remotes which support irda yet

It`s been said that the One for All 6 will do IrDa. I have a topline 5 which will at least switch on and change channels - What more do you need!
