Explanation regarding £3 voucher on CDWOW
I found the link on www.dvdlard.co.uk[link still exists] and bought two purchases from two different email addresses of mine.
I have received one of these goods with the £3 reduction.
The fact that this link works is through sheer incompetence of those running the promotion.
I say DVD Review have over reacted to my £3 off thread & I seriously do not consider this as fraud whatsoever.
I reckon the link should be reopened for more people to enjoy luxury prices.
It is up to those running the promotion to block anyone buying goods from it.
RE: Explanation regarding £3 voucher on CDWOW
It was taking the p*** as we clearly are abusing the offer. However I dont think they (CD WOW) really care as they are gaining much more custom than before. People are buying things they normally wouldnt buy and I think that is part of this successful promotion. I think they clearly know when someone has bought something at a reduced price but as they are still making a tidy profit, they find it acceptable. I do agree with westy closing the thread however. I think its just to make dvd.reviewer clear if anything does build up(which probably wont but you never know).
As there was a link to the actual site dvd.reviewer was used as a means to spread this link accross I think it might be against forum rules or something. However I believe its safe if you post a link to the site where you got the link from (in this case dvdlard) as this will not be in breach of any rules. You will be simply linking to another thread/forum/whatever. There is no point in arguing as the moderators words are final.

RE: Explanation regarding £3 voucher on CDWOW
Didn`t the offer say that you had to use a First Direct credit card ? How many people actually ordered using one ?
RE: Explanation regarding £3 voucher on CDWOW
Yes the offer did say you had to use a First direct card. I ordered two dvds and got confirmation that my purchases were accepted and also that it they had been despatched.
I actually order 95% of my dvds and CDs from CD-wow - And I rate them as excellent. When they do run promotions (i.e. the 50p off card you get with some orders) If you try typing the promotional code twice it will not accept it the second time. In fact if you don`t enter code right first time you don`t get discount - You have to email CD-wow and they immediately reply with a new code.
My point is that I think CD Wow are on the ball and it doesn`t bother them too much because they are making lots of sales - they probably don`t care if its first direct or another CC company as long as they make the sale. If they did I`m sure they would have stopped it by now. Remember the "Easter egg promotion" in April when random discount codes ranging from 50p to £3 flashed up on the screen when you went to their web page - they`re always giving discounts.
CD Wow know whats going on as I`m sure do First Direct. I`m interested to know why the DVD modorators didn`t erase the link when it first appeared (8 July at 16 01) instead of waiting till Friday 11th July at 09 43.
Anyways thats only my opinion - for what its worth. I still say thanks for the original link Bargain Boy.

p.s. I wonder if anyone else who used the original link and placed a successful order will bother responding to this.

RE: Explanation regarding £3 voucher on CDWOW
This one will! Even though it`s only to say how spot on you are with your comments Niteowl. And thanks again Bargain Boy!
RE: Explanation regarding £3 voucher on CDWOW
Got my three DVDs this morning... welldone Bargain Boy!
RE: Explanation regarding £3 voucher on CDWOW
I`m really not quite sure why this is still being discussed.
Westy had given his very logical reasons why the original thread was closed (the very real possibility that CD Wow could opt to take legal proceedings against DVD Reviewer, as they nearly did against DVD Forums, for showing links to an offer that was clearly aimed at only a specific niche of customers).
There really isn`t anything else to add to this debate. I am sure all of you who benefitted from the offer thank Bargain Boy for pointing it out. Let`s leave it at that.
Thread closed.
