Just got their weekly email, and I am very tempted by this. It is an AOC screen (who get good reviews) DVI connector, and as an added bonus a USB 2 hub built in! And this is selling for £354.47 including VAT!!!!

I don`t think they guarantee NO DEAD PIXELS, I know that CTX do, but only on some models.

I have a P922E, not a bargain, but a stunning monitor.

The AOC looks like a real bargain though and if you have a dead pixel, what`s to say you don`t (or can`t) find something else wrong with the monitor, not that I would ever condone being dishonest.

Good luck Tom, let us all know how good it is and if you avoid the dreaded dead pixels ;)

With the USB2.0 hub, does this mean that it can be used on PCs that do not have any USB ports?

I have USB/PS2 keyboard and mouse that I cannot use until I get a PC with USB/PS2 ports. If I get this monitor for now, will that solve my problem?

No, the hub needs to be connected to the PC via a USB port. In this case, you`ll need a USB2 port. Why not buy a PCI USB2 card and add it to you computer - they`re pretty cheap these days. You may also need a USB2 cable to connect the PC`s port to the hub on the monitor (though the monitor may come with one). Both PCI card and USB2 cables are available cheaply from eBuyer too.

How old is you PC if it doesn`t have PS2 or USB, though? I was setting up an old Pentium 133 for running some background monitoring software, and that had USB and PS2....

Plus if the PC has no USB ports what are the odds that the video card has a DVI connector on it for that matter. No PS2 ports !!! They`ve been around for ages as well.

Thanks for the advice Richard. It was difficult coming out of the closet holding up my hands to admit it but yes, my home PC does not has PS2 nor USB ports although I do have a Sony PS2 which comes with 2 USB ports so does that count for something?

It is indeed a dinosaur of a PC that belongs in a museum and I am looking forward to speccing and putting together a modern day future proof PC (for 2-3 years at least) and then being able to get onto broadband at home as well!

So the present P133 (don`t laugh - Oh alright go on), that I have been using for the past 6-7 years (occasionally), is being primed as a hand-off to the parents if not used as a server of some sort.

At the moment, my 17" Samsung TFT does not have DVI and it looks fine. Do you notice that much difference through DVI? Probably crisper and better definition and colours I suppose.

The price of this AOC is an absolute steal so I`m very tempted. Hopefully the response time is <25ms as seems to be the case for most new TFTs now, so should be good for games and DVDs as well.
