:( Hi - I got the collection today but it was not the original box but single DVDs. This is no good to me. Has anybody else got the same problem?

I think it is quite clear from their site that they come on individual DVD`s rather than in one boxset.

Should be able to get a refund though, as with anything it`s your right. Although I`m sure you`ll have to pay for the postage back which for 33 DVD`s must be a bit :/

Out of interest why are you bothered about the box they all come in, your saving £80 on there Morse set in the box @ £180

What do you mean by that? If there`s nothing wrong with them and, by your own admission, "it is quite clear from their site that they come on individual DVD`s rather than in one boxset", then you have no right to a refund. Goodwill etc. may come into play but you don`t have the right to a refund.....

With things bought unseen, you do have a statutory right to return them, goodwill doesn`t come into it.

Quote:
Subject to certain exceptions, the consumer will have an unconditional right to cancel the contract within seven working days beginning on the day after the delivery of the goods or from the day after the date of the contract where it relates to the provision of services - the `cooling off period`.

Do a Google on "distance selling", or have a look here.

*Edit* Just read a bit further down the page, you may not be able to return them after all, depends if you`ve opened them.

Quote:
Certain contracts cannot be cancelled (unless the parties agree otherwise) ..... the supply of audio or video recordings or computer software if they are `unsealed` by the consumer

Hi
sorry that you are not happy with the offer. I was a little dissapointed that there was no box BUT was not willing to pay £80 for it!!
DVDs are what I bought them for not the box.

Just a quick question on this set.
Is it 33 DVDs in 33 cases or are they `doubled up` ?

I`m pretty sure that anything you buy if your not happy with it you are entitled to a refund, provided the condition you return the item in meets the refund criteria of the store your returning the item to. There are some obvious exceptions to this rule with certain products, however in general that is what I work to. I have never had any trouble returning an item I have not been happy with. For this company 7 days seems a bit short although they are probably factoring in delivery time there and back, as I thought the standard statuatory rights of the consumer was 14 days to return a product if not 100% happy with the purchase.

Whether I`m 100% right on the above I cannot say, however as I explained above I have never had a problem before.

P.S. If you really want the box you can get the sets for £140 here
