Proline DVD player £60

Dunno whether these are returns, ex-repair or what, but reputable High St retailer http://www.woolworths.co.uk are knocking a load of Proline 1000s out at £60 a pop.

Useful for the "kid`s bedroom" (no offence, Blazing Monga !)

I happen to own a PROLINE DVD-1000, and I think they are one of the best on the market. There is nothing wrong with them whatsoever, so quit taking the rip. Woolworths are known to do crap deals, so that explains it.

Sorry, didn`t intend to slag the Proline, and if it came across that way, I apologise.

What I was remarking on was the price - you have to admit that £60 is cheap, and as most visitors here will already own a player, I thought it would make an excellent choice for a second player.

Early versions of the 1000 got ripped to bits due to firmware problems, but AFAIK most of these are resolved now.

Don`t quite understand why you are saying that Woolies are doing a `crap deal`, however ?

Is the Proline DVD player essentially the same as the Wharfedale 750?? Reason I ask is that the region hacks are identical. Or am I just being naive?

Watch the woolworths shopping cart. It does not use SSL or HTTPS, so I don`t have a clue how they have secured it (hence protect your credit card details).

If you want to order, go to the contact page and place your order via the phone. I did.

Anyone have an idea how long this offer will last? I`m trying to get in touch with a mate to let him know but can`t contact him at present.

The site now says "back in stock soon" but when I tried to order one by phone, the guy said this was an error and they wouldn`t be getting any more in stock... doh!
