RE: 160GB PVR - Digital Freeview Receiver With Twin Tuner £51 + delivery

I mean as in not exactly the latest and greatest model, which I inferred from the description - maybe I misinterpreted.

RE: Digital Satellite Dish & Receiver Set - £59.99 at Lidl from Thurs.

search on google for "comagforum". the first link will lead you to a forum which in turn should lead you to what I understand to be pretty much the latest info for the SL55. I updated mine a couple of weeks ago after not using it for ages....

RE: Digital Satellite Dish & Receiver Set - £59.99 at Lidl from Thurs.

No chance on SL55 patch, it is (unfortunately) a VERY differnt beast inside. >:(

RE: MVC Closure\buyout\rebranding whatever........

problem is pretty much no phone these days keeps the phone book in the sim :o

RE: Walkers crisps Ipod giveaway (every 5 mins)

so we`re munching somehting like 2 packs a day EACH? Could it be that these figures are not anything to do with the actual quantity of entries? But then what could they be?

RE: ToolStation

I must say I`ve had naff service off both toolstation and screwfix.

Moved from Screwfix when their delivery went missing and they then refused to refund or send out the items again (luckily the owner of the back yard where the parcel had been dumped in the rain came round with it)

Toolstation have twice just sat on my orders for 3 days without explaining why or apologising, once I asked that they send the delayed order out on a saturday and they refused unless I pay the saturday premium! Then both the same 2 times missed stuff off the order without saying anything, or again apologising. As I do work for clients I`ve twice had to delay estimated delivery dates for them, something toolstation and screwfix don`t seem to give anything of a toss about.

However to be fair, the prices are mega cheap so I continue to use toolstation, but I wish they would sort themselves out!

RE: 5.1 DIVX DVD Player - £32.99 at Aldi

funny enough the drawer wouldnt` open on mine either - it came out about a cm then went back in. However after a few ins and outs is obviously sheared off whatever was stopping it, and now it works OK! hahah

RE: 2 Room TV Signal Booster with Surge and IR £3.74

When you say you are getting good signal, is the analogue clear?

RE: Bargain at Argos - only 66p for ........

AA Batteries - twin pack according to the ring and reserve service Confused

and according to stock checker and at the till (yeah I added them to my order for a laugh)

RE: 5.1 DIVX DVD Player - £32.99 at Aldi

AFAIK it`s not over until the shop has sold out. My local (Chester) had maybe 20 left on Friday so that bodes well for some being there for a few days yet (they`ve usually gone by Friday if they`re that popular). With DVD players being 20-25 quid these days I suspect most won`t think this is a bargain, so it will stay on the shelves...

As for the player, i am VERY impressed so far. I had a Skyworth (WHsmiths 30 quid job) for a couple of weeks some time ago and it failed on the vast majority of the test discs I had. This has not failed at all so far. Also plays back Xvid/DivX from DVD-R and I`ve also tried MPEGS on mega cheapo DVD-RW - with what seem to be flawless results so far.

It looks to me to be a completely different operating system from the Skyworth, which I understand to be a Yamada clone(?) and funny enough the OS looks and behaves exactly like the toshiba 240 although of course no DivX in the 240....

Looking on t`internet initial searches say it would seem this might be a clone of the tevion DVD5000, but not too sure of that yet.

So far so good. Well pleased!

RE: 24v drill was £50 now £15..

I will join in with that. I got a cheapo one from B&Q about 7 years ago, and while it is certainly rubbish in comparison with even the new cheapo ones, it is still going strong. I`ve used it in low duty stuff quite regularly, and am really surprised about the battery.

I got one of these cheap challenger ones, while it`s arguable if it was worth £50, it`s more than worth the £15. It`s already proved that you can drill through walls with a cordless (new one to me), and the battery and charger are quality (for a cheapo item).

I`d say if you are anything other than a heavy duty driller, buy it and take it back if it knackers before the year is up.

RE: Tesco Camera Phones - £12.49

That`s a new take on the weedling-out-of-sending-advertised-goods problem. "we didn`t take the money" pull teh other one!!!

RE: 1p prints until midnight tonight (9th Feb)

If you upload more than 50 meg it expands your temporary space for you, and when you order it gives you more permanent space too. so I wouldn`t worry (unless you are on dial up ;-)

RE: 1p prints until midnight tonight (9th Feb)

SJ: are you trying to shrink the picture because of the file size is too big to upload? If you can I would not bother fiddling around with it and upload the full picture as it comes off the camera, photobox will do the neccesary to get it on the paper (in fact there`s some thing when you submit photos to fiddle with that as well but I didn`t pay any attention!)

RE: Dimension 3000 2.6GHz (Celeron D) 17" Monitor £184 inc delivery. (rpoints)

Hmmm. just tried it and....

£301.42 (incl. VAT) All prices are exclusive of shipping

RE: FREESAT - Freeview For Sky Boxes

If you have a version 2 sky card (dark blue with yellow house) it supposedly will get ALL of the same channels as a "freesat from Sky" card. If you have no card you won`t get ITV1, CH4 or CH5 - that`s the only difference

RE: Friends Boxsets are there any offers?

I just ordered Series 7 (6 discs) for 29;99 from Woolworths on line 1:50 postage

Good luck with their customer service!! (not that I`m bitter or anything ;-)

RE: Cheap Good Quality Freeview Box

I dunno, I have seen reports that the Pioneer changes channel randomly when using other functions, has a lot of trouble turning over to ITV2 and BBC news multiscreen doesnt work. I have also seen unconfirmed reports that Pioneer don`t intend to ever update the software! Depends on if you care about this features but it doesn`t sound quality or highly rated to me.

RE: I actually got a bargain at HMV!!

I kind of got a bargain from HMV - they were advertising Rogue Squadron 3 (14.99) and SSX 3 (19.99) for gamecube in the press. I checked Amazon and Play and they were nowhere near on price so I went down there to find, of course, out of stock (or maybe never any stock ever at all). However over the road at GameStation they had matched the price. BARGAIN! Cheers HMV!!!!!! :)

RE: Woollies sale

Heres a really really really late update....

Finally (after several emails and some general dissing of their version of customer service) got an email out of them where they firstly "apologise for the delay" then try and say they sent me the email the day after I ordered the item and I must have not recieved it (yeah right, what delay are you apologising for then?)

The reason given for the order being cancelled was that the supplier was out of stock - no addressing of the fact they have plenty in stock now but for 31 quid more.

What galls me is that I bought several other items from them on the back of getting this bargain - they all arrived within a day.

They will NOT be seeing any more of my cash. No communications, no answers to emails, no sending of product and (not even well thought out) BS from customer service.

.....And in March the site still thought it was Xmas.

RE: Woollies sale

Sorry to bring up an old thread but did anyone who bought the paramount box set from Woolies actually recieve it? Not only have I not recieved mine, I haven`t heard a thing (apart from order confirmation) from Woolies, and my order history now says no longer available, but the main site shows it at £45.99 ships in 6 days! - I notice tesco had the same price at the time so I would have thought it wasn`t a pricing mistake?

Pacific 1002 and RGB

I got a pacific dvd 1002 from Asda after all the good reviews around, and think the machine is excellent, especially for 50 notes.

However, everything I have going into the telly uses RGB and I want to do the same with the pacific, however when I switch it to RGB, the picture goes decidedly green. It is clearly in RGB as the fuzzy edges associated with composite dissapear, and I have checked out with other scart leads, but there is a very noticable green hue over whatever is on screen (menus or films). I took the unit back and swapped it for another, however the new one is exactly the same.

Anybody experience the same? Anybody got any ideas for a fix, or any suggestions that there may be a faulty batch?
