Bargain Buckets Forum
Where are all the bargains? Is it me or there has been a serious lack in decent hard working bargains that make you go oooh, i must buy it at that price.
Yep, I`ve noticed that too over the last few weeks, show me the bargains!
This is true. Mind you, most of the pee-your-pants bargains are/were pricing cockups on the DVD websites, maybe they`ve all sorted out their pricing systems or something.
I think there are loads of bargains but everyone knows where to look so they dont put it up here. For example everyone knows of the aussie site, musicbox offers futureent offers etc.
everyone?..perhaps..although I`ve only discovered the oz sites in the past few days, so we all have to do it once..twice if we enjoy it :-)
Dare I mention the so called bargain of the century!
from the bargain master HMV
THE X FILES SEASON 1 (not available at £29-99)!
I thought I had gotten over it!
What a c*ck *p!
I think it is all relative, I consider that a bargain is Fight Club at approx. £12-50 for the double disc special edition (from ezydvd).
However, it is not a bargain if I had already!
Same as in the future when you will probably be able to get it for £5-99!!!!
It is all about buying something that you want at the right price.
If I wanted Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii and the cheapest it was available was for £25-00 then I would think it was a bargain! Majority wouldn`t.
You cannot expect to buy newly released films for £5-00!
oh really?? wasnt so long ago i had roadtrip drop through my letterbox.. costing 5.99.....ahem..
l got a road trip for the same price too! Ha!
And l went to the HMV sale and got a few X-FILES box sets for £29.00
Double HA!
.
Regarding the previous two postings, I always thought a bargain was supposedly a quality item reasonably priced that you would actually want to own?
Bargains don`t have to be new releases, they can be older films (even just a couple of yrs) that some poor retailer can`t sell, they reduce it and its then dirt cheap so you say "Well, i wouldn`t pay £15 for it but i don`t mind parting with £5 or £7 or even £10"
Especially relevant as I (and i gues many others) are trying to stock up a back catalogue to replace their vhs tapes. And some of those films it seems uneconomical to replace vhs unless the dvd is a bargain price.
Its like sometimes finding dirt cheap cds or vids, like a couple of days ago i paid 99p for a new copy of Cher`s greatest hits (ok, not a great album but is worth it for a few songs) because the shop was clearing out stock.
