Incidentally, I signed up about a month ago to RAC. Did it online, got solution 4 for the price of solution 3 it for doing it online, plus a 20% discount - but doing it online you have to pay the lot in one direct debit (about £108 I think, might be a little more), but if you ring them up you can spread the cost, so get a fairly big discount without paying in one go. Not sure if its any use to anyone, but helped me out!
