Godfather at MVC - stores only

Just to let all you bargain hunters know that MVC have stopped selling the set online at £24.99 - however all the MVC `real` stores have loads of box sets in, and I mean loads for the same price !!!!

And if you can`t be bothered walking to MVC, ring them up and check - if they have, Dixons or Comets (can`t remember which) will pricematch it and take 10% off - works out around £20 !

Mind you, that means walking to Dixons or Comets and checking they`ve got it...

I`ll, er, be off then...

Earlier in the day i was having a look at the alien legacy box set for 29:99 from dvdstreet as mentioned in another thread. As you do when your thinking about buying a dvd i clicked add to basket and continued to browse the site looking for some more offers. After 10 mins of browsing the "impulse" buy feeling had gone and i realised i was just buying the alien box set as it was such a good deal and i dont really want it at this time. I closed the explorer window down and went about my business.

This evening i purchased the godfather trilogy from MVC and went through with the transaction. I`ve just checked my e-mails and I have one from streetsonline confirming the order of alien trilogy!!! How can/did they manage this! I`ve never given my card details to streets online! I never even went to the checkout, i just closed the browser on their main page.

Since this cock up i`ve learnt that "mvc ltd and streets online ltd are associated companys and thus share the same server technology". As far as i was aware they were two totaly seperate companys and they should not be sharing card details!!!

Does anyone with retail experience know if this is legal?! I`d appreciate any feedback as there going to get so much shlt when their customer support page starts working again. If anyone has any data protection act or retailer rights stuff I could drop into a mail that would be good.

Thanks in advance,
Ross.

They are both part of the Kingfisher group so I think that they are well within their rights I`m afraid....

I think your order details are stored on your own pc as part of a cookie. I would recommend clearing out your IE temp files and cookies to avoid this issue in the future. I`ve had similar issues with previous shopping appearing in the checkout but it doesn`t happen once I clear all that s*** out.

Got it last week (Maidenhead) also at £25, and MVC also throw in an "exclusive" CD soundtrack of music from each film -not bad.

Woolies had the trilogy for £30 and Aliens boxset for £35
