Back To The Future

Stewart McWilliam (Competent) posted this on Sunday, 7th July 2002, 20:37

Does anyone know any reason that i should wait for the region 1 release of the boxset (Except maybe the better cover) since the region 2 is out in september and region 1 is in december!

Region 1 also offer a widescreen & fullscreen version, but Region 2 is just widescreen (which is what I want anyway)

Cheers!

And Region 4 is out in August :-)

The Region 1 version has a load more extras than both R2 and R4, I believe.

Moved to Software Forum.

Region 4 (same time as R2) is cheaper - £17.99 from http://www.CDwow.com. R1 has more features - films 2 and 3 have commentaries whereas R2/4 version doesn`t.

Clayts - you moved this when I was in mid-rely, and my reply seems to have gone walkies - if you see an orphan thread reply, you know where to send it....

I WAS going to say (before I was so rudly interrupted), that these threads tell you a lot

and that R1 has commentaries on films 2 & 3 as well as 1, whereas R2/4 only has the film 1 commentary.

...oh, and http://www.cdwow.com have the R4 for £17.99, too.....

Is Movietyme.com trustworthy?

The Region 1 is £22.99 there and i am still a bit apprehensive about using sites i am not familiar with!

Also do they charge your credit card when it is despached or as soon as you place the order!?

Cheers!

Are the extra `extras` really worth shelling out and another £5 or so on,and also waiting till december most commentaries are not that good, some of the best movies i.e Pitch black,Gladiator,Final destination etc have unworthy commentaries and is full of stuff we prob already know about anyway I personally would buy it for £17.99 with its decent amount of extras anyway because I bet as soon as this baby starts to sell the price will go up anyhow.

Movietyme are great. Use them. I`m suprised you`re not familiar with them - they`re quite well known.

They charge on despatch, I`m almost sure of it.

I`d get either the R4 or R2. Not the R1. I hate NTSC, so I stopped buying R1 DVD`s when I got my nice big new telly. I`d stick with PAL. Better resolution, not jerky picture and almost always has better transfers.
