Page 1 of Monty Pythons Life Of Brian Re-release !!!!

The Life of Brian is being re-released on region 2 , next month by a different company (columbia-tristar) . Does anyone know if it will contain any features , or if it will be better quality than the dvd out at the moment which has the worst DVD picture quality i have ever seen.

This film really deserves a dvd like the US dvd which is brilliant lets hope the new one is ,and not as crap as the paramount dvd.

Well The Holy Grail region 2 was released on Columbia/Tristar, and judging by that it should be a feature packed 2 disc set with 5.1 DD. I hope so, it deserves it. I can`t wait!!!!

According to Play, the specs are exactly the same - so just a trailer. :(

The disc hasn`t been officially announced by Col/Tri yet as far as I know. The rumours suggested more than a trailer would be on the new R2 disc, so keep an eye out for official news.

And if the new R2 does turn out to be pants, just get the Criterion disc - it`s fantastic!

On the BBFC site, there is is 50 mins of extras passed for the Life of Brian DVD. This I think was rumoured to be a documentary. Of course, the R0 Criterion Edition has deleted scenes, and commentaries as well.

From what I read sometime last year, was because the monty python cast objected to any behind the scenes footage etc, because the company either didn`t ask permision or the cast wern`t going to get any royalties, so they put a block on the R2 release.

The one on play is just the current release anyway. I have that already. Its not the specs for the re-release.

On The BBFC website if you search for "The Pythons" it brings up a 50 min documentary , and it says that it is an extra feature on the life of brian dvd . if you go onto the columbia/tristar website and search for the life of brian it brings some info and a release date .
