More than likely

They should rename the DVD experience to Milk Marketing Board cos that what the studios are doing milking people for all their worth

You only have to look at Lord of the Rings when they are releasing two version within a couple of months of each other and the majority who bought the first will plum for the second for the extra footage

You don`t have to buy both, you have a choice! Be thankful that you know in advance that there`s another version. I`ve only bought the LOTR extended and will do so again for part 2. :-)

Anil

You may be the exception but there will still be others who purchase both

My point was why can`t they release a definitive version and leave it at that rather than rush one out before releasing a better version

Who`s saying it`s a better version. The director doesn`t think so. He says the cinema release is the version he wanted to create and that`s why they don`t call the extended version the `director`s cut`. It is more for filling in parts of the story, and to maybe make it `truer` to the book that, in his opinion, isn`t necessary to tell the story on it`s own. Longer, for lots of people doesn`t necessarily mean better.

I did get the 4 disc version of LOTR Pt1 and will get it for TTT. At least they tell you in advance and you can make a choice. They don`t do that for most films.

Back to original post, I think they`ve said there won`t be a `director`s cut`.
