French Connection double pack £10
Browsing the rubbish in Cash converters, as I was leaving I saw this little bargin in mint condition. Not really a bargin that everyone can share in but I`m well chuffed. The moral of the story, check out cash converters. They also had Sopranos season 2 for £25
Also future entertainment seems to be generally cheaper than play on region 1 stuff and no one ever seems to mention them.
RE: who got the best bargains in hmv
The £4.99 set in Blockbuster of `lambs` is 1 disc. I could not find it in HMV along with the Streets album and the Twin Peakes box set but was I was helpfully told by the staff that they had it at full price.
RE: who got the best bargains in hmv
Well happy with True Romance for a tenner plus a 15% off student voucher. £8.50 well happy, might get Twin Peaks series 1 if it comes into Colchester.
RE: REservoir Dogs SE

RE: REservoir Dogs SE
I can`t find it, can anyone provide a link.
RE: Brothers Coen - advice needed!
No one has mentioned Fargo I don`t think, which has of course just come out with a shiny new transfer and some of the best extras on a Coens film.
The most useful think i can do is rank the ones I`ve seen
1. TMWWT
2. Big Lebowski
3. Hudsucker Proxy
4. Oh Brother..
5. Fargo (very long time since I saw it)
6. Barton Fink
7. Blood Simple
RE: X-Men 1.5
DTS sound on the 1.5 rocks the house, have not had a chance to look at the extras or the commentary, looking forward to that.
Gangs of New York
Have noticed the G.o.N.Y DVD is not called a special edition does any one know/think a fruther version could be in the works?
RE: Tesco 2 for £25
When I rang WH Smith Colchester they claimed no knowledge of this and I saw Minority report in their only the other week for £12.99. Also I could`nt find the relavent thread.
RE: Tesco 2 for £25
Bugger
Tesco 2 for £25
Some of the films can be got cheaper online, but it`s not a bad deal for a supermarket the DVD`s are,
Speed
X-Men 1.5
Fight Club
Minority Report
The Abyss
The French Connection 1
Planet of the Apes
RE: Welcome To Collinwood r1 ft/s
Full Frontal r1?
Swaps: Full Frontal (R1) and M.A.S.H(R2)
Both V. good condition would sawp for anything that I like the sound of, would also consider swapping 2 for 1 good one (say minority report or anything cool on region 1).
RE: Life of Brain (new remastered version) £9.99
Looks like the only solution is to get both.
RE: Life of Brain (new remastered version) £9.99
R0 SE (America) - Criterion
Commentary by Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, and Terry Jones
2nd Commentary by John Cleese and Michael Palin
Theatrical Trailer
5 Deleted Scenes (with commentary)
4 Radio Ads
The Pythons documentary
English Subtitles
1.85:1 anamorphic NTSC
Dolby Digital Stereo English
Amaray Case
All this is on the criterion edition so bear that in mind before you by this vanilla copy. It will be more expensive though.
RE: Chasing Amy
Thank for the pointers guys, my problem is not solved, what are the differences between the regular and special HMV version?
RE: Couple more bargains at Splash DVD
Thanks for the tips bunnster, even at £8.95 it`s still an excellent price.
RE: Trade Spiderman for minority report
By the way nahccp[at]ku.ca.xesse
Trade Spiderman for minority report
As it says in the heading. Straight swap anyone interested them let me know.
Chasing Amy
Looking at rewind I see there is a HMV exclusive which is basically the criterion Region 1. Howver it is not on their website. Does anyone know what the differences between the criterion version and the regular U.K chasing Amy release. There is a commentary on both is one better? There are 10 deleted scenes on the CE and on the regular U.K it just says deleted scenes. Any help appreciated?
RE: Couple more bargains at Splash DVD
I`ve just noticed that it says released 15th may 2000 as well. Having read lots of bad things about them I`ll wait and see, post on this site if you get the two disc 2003 set.
RE: Couple more bargains at Splash DVD
How do they work out the street pricew is £12.99. Can splash be trusted? Has anyone used them before.
RE: Play TV sale- new titles added
Thanks for this as I`ve been waiting for series 2 of spaced to be cheap for ages.
New HMV sale
Among the usual full priced when you could find in anywhere for less than a tenner stuff is 24 party people and the royal tenenbaums, also they have the almost famous bootleg edition. Its 19.99 and BOGOF. I can`t really find another one I want to go with 24pp. Does anyone know of anywhere where it is going cheap on its on (on the net).
New Out: Unforgiven for £9.99
In the HMV Award winners sale. £9.99 both in store and on-line. Is it worth getting? Seems like quite a suprising bargin for HMV.
RE: Twin Peaks Season 1 R1 Under 18 quid.
Does the pilot set up a lot, do you need to see them in order? Why the hell did`nt they put the pilot in the set?
RE: What are your ten favourite albums?
Parklife - Blur
Protection - Massive Attack
Blood on the tracks - Dylan
Automatic - R.E.M
Grace - Jeff Buckley
Achtung Baby - U2
Pet Sounds - The Beach Boys
Straight outta Compton - NWA
Together Alone - Crowded house
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - Elton John
Ever have that nagging feeling you`ve forgotten something (2 minutes later edits in Crowded house and Elton John.)

RE: The Sopranos Series 1 to 3 DVD Boxsets
Also my R1 season 1 is 5.1 and the R2 is only stero and you get a 77 min interview with creator David Chase. (Plus, its only four discs so it takes up less space.)
RE: Free Fox DVD`S - Did You Receive Yours?
Yeah, after ages (3 months maybe) I did get what lies beneath and de-registered my self from the fox mailing list so it really was something for nothing.
RE: Cd-Wow no customs
Can`t someone challenge this as a restriction of the free market, or argue that its an archaic law that predates the internet. Could`nt the companies tick gift and say that we send them money as a way of ensuring a free gift of a DVD which costs £25. They probably don`t come under english law anyway.
Lets start the campaign now for changing the customes charging laws.
