Well, here`s the BBFC answer to whether I can or cannot sell R1 titles through the business..

Simply put, the answer was "No."

That`s direct from source guys.
Apparently there are possible Copyright implications too, so FACT an be involved as well.

However, if the ENTIRE disc (menus, trailers, extras etc.) HAVE been classified by the BBFC, then it`s legal to sell them.
(although I`ve yet to find an R1 that applies to)

If they aren`t, the fine is (direct quote) "unlimited" !!!!!
So they can basically belt you for as much dosh as they want!!!

It is, however, legal to import for PERSONAL use, but the normal implications apply..the VAT and duty stuff.

Back to phoning my R2 suppliers...lol!

If I were you I would keep out of the software retail business, its far too competitive and I doubt anyone but the major players will survive. Lets face it, the internet makes it far too easy to shop around and find the best price, which makes those who can bulk order get better discounts, immediately favouring the larger retailers. :/

Interesting point, in theory! However my experience is the smaller retailers are normally cheaper!

Maybe it`s because the bigger ones have an increased overhead or maybe they`re just greedier - which would explain how they got big! ;-)

That`s my guess anyway!

Or the big retailers drop the prices for a period long enough to
starve small companies out of business.
Just like PC World (Currys) Time, Tiny e.t.c did on independant computer retailers.

Which is why the net is so good for forcing the greedy corporations
to be competetive. So more power to the small "Genuine" net dealers
that have very limited overheads and provide a good price and service.

It is just a pity we cannot get things like petrol this way. Oh well.

Well, dunno about that.....maybe I can`t compete on the "chart" type stuff, but wait until tomorrow night for pricing info for the 30 that arrive tomorrow!!

Oh, and it`ll be on a link from my site, unless RJ Sheppy sez it`s ok for that to be posted here?
(It is after all, a blatant advert really!! but for the minute, I aint got my merchant number so cant take CC orders! :o( )
