Well, I believe the just released R1 Director`s Cut Two-Disc Special Edition will tickle your fancy.

You should seek out the R1 Oliver Stone Collection (available on its own or as part of a box set), as it has a DD 5.1 soundtrack rather than Dolby Surround which seems to be on all other versions.

Unfortunately the picture quality isn`t any better than the R2 release.

I bought the region 4, version which is the directors cut 2 disc set (as per region 1) I cant remeber if 5.1 or dolby as it`s been on loan doing the rounds for the past 4 months!!! I would definitely recommend that, picture quality is very good IMHO.

After watching tonight`s documentary on JFK`s assasination,
if it`s fiction you want then go ahead and buy Oliver Stone`s dvd ;)

When the remaining members of The Doors were being interviewed they said that 99% of the film The Doors was fiction. After seeing the documentary last night, it didn`t suprise me that the film was total fiction.

The documentary was really interesting, it makes me laugh when people still think it`s a conspiracy, the same when the dozy twats think the landing on the moon was fake.

It`s artistic licence man : as they sad, Garrison never made that speech :)

You can`t honestly profess to be surprised by the fact cinema-goers believed Stone`s film (which is excellent even though it is fiction). It`s like anything we don`t comprehend : we`ll believe anyone if it looks convincing enough.

The power of Hollywood eh ? (eg The US were single-handedly responsible for cracking the Enigma code during WW2 - U571 is a great film : best surround sound I`ve heard for a while : but is just ain`t the truth, dammit).

`JFK` is intended as a counter-myth, and given the hyperbole of Stone`s conclusion (um, everyone was in on it, where were you November 22rd 1963? Prove it!) you`d have to be either as melodramatically paranoid as him or utterly gullible to swallow most of it. I didn`t see the program, but it`s been no secret since the film`s release in 1991 that `JFK` is, if not utterly erroneous, more than a little creative with the facts.

For the record, the director`s cut is marginally superior to the theatrical cut, if only because it adds more substance to the film`s giddily unique onslaught of information overload.
