the commentary is on R1 only. R2/R4 do not have this, or these extras.

Audio commentary by Richard Hatch, Dirk Benedict and Herbert Jefferson Jr. on the pilot episode "Saga of a Star World "
Sneak peek for the Interactive Game "Battlestar Galactica"
Stu Phillips: Composing the Score - featurette
1 hour of deleted scenes and alternate scenes

Thanks to Rewind.

I`m going to offload my R2 for the R1.

Anil

Took a look at the boxset in Virgin over lunch - One episode has undergone a subtle name change "The Lost Worriers" (Comment about the wife deleted as I thought better of it).

"Great chunks of my past detaching themselves like melting icebergs"

The R1 Features not on the R2/R4 boxsets are as follows:

Audio commentary by Richard Hatch, Dirk Benedict and Herbert Jefferson Jr. on the pilot episode "Saga of a Star World "
Sneak peek at the Interactive Game "Battlestar Galactica"
Stu Phillips: Composing the Score - featurette
1 hour of deleted and alternate scenes.

The 1 hour of deleted scenes and alternate scenes that are missing on the R2 Boxsets were left out for a reason "The episodes these scenes are taken from were deemed as not popular enough in the UK to include them on the Bonus disc" (PAL having a higher Resolution takes up more space on a disc then NTSC) It was either a lower resolution for the documentary`s or losing the deleted scenes, I`ll go with the higher resolution because the deleted footage not featured on the R2/R4 boxsets is nothing to miss really because they are all from bad episodes of the series" (All of the deleted footage from the classic "well written"episodes are featured on the bonus disc).

99% of the time Australia receives the same stock as the UK does (even though Australia still to this day receive far more US titles then the UK do) which is why the footage is also missing on the R4 boxsets.

All other features are UNIVERSAL exclusives for the R1 DVD boxsets.

The Same R1 UNIVERSAL Exclusives were done for the Back to the Future Trilogy and many other R1 UNIVERSAL titles.

Take care!

Hello everyone - 1st post here.....

If I may ask, Gregory, what is the source of your information regarding this decision for the Battlestar Galactica Region 2 DVD box set?

Many thanks,
Ian

Hi Ian,

The source for my information is "UNIVERSAL" I have worked for them in the past and I currently am handling retail and marketing for FOX. I work for whoever hires me at the time so next month for instance I could be working for New Line or even UNIVERSAL again.

Take care!

Greg
