Worst layer change during a movie!!!!!!!
I know all DVD`s have to have the layer change somewhere - but I think most companies tend to think about where they are going to put it - well some companies.
Watched Underworld (Region 3) last night. Yes I know the movie isn`t brilliant but where the layer change hapened just sucked - 20 seconds later there was a scene cross fade where it could have gone!!
Think of any other craply timed layer changes?

Only if they`re dual layer DVDs. :)
My personal worst is the original (non-SE) Region 4 version of Die Hard 3. Not only did they put it in the middle of a scene, they inserted a fade to black as well! (As if to say, "here`s the end of the first layer, folks... and now for layer two!")

What Region is this?
I`ve got Region 2, and the Layer Change is perfectly placed, between two scenes.
Just wondering

My Region 1 Two Towers EE has no such problems either so what Region has the problem on?
RE: Worst layer change during a movie!!!!!!!
I know it doesn`t excuse placing changes in thoughtless places, but players make a difference. I can`t remember detecting a single layer change on the first machine I had, but the second one is crap in comparison, all a half to a second long now. >:(
RE: Worst layer change during a movie!!!!!!!
Cheap players manufactured in the Far East = excellent layer change
Expensive brand name players = crap layer change
Well known due to the fact most Far Eastern manufacturers use IDE DVD-ROM drives, or variations on the theme, rather than the proprietory loaders used by big names.
Also related to the memory buffer - bigger cache in cheapy players :)
