if the following is true

Pierce Brosnan tells Entertainment Weekly that he`s done with the James Bond franchise, opening the door for possible replacements.
"That`s it," says the now former 007, "I`ve said all I`ve got to say on the world of James Bond." He says that Die Another Day will be his last Bond film and he`s not returning for a fifth movie. "Bond is another lifetime, behind me."
Then who do we suggest should be the new james bond?
My suggestion would be "Aiden Gillen" - from "queer as folk" and in "shanghai knights"
RE: who should be the new james bond
Paul Blackthorne from off the telly (Stephen Saunders in 24, also in ER) or someone fairly unknown so he`s not tied to other projects all the time.
Definitely not Orlando Bloom! >:(

Clive Owen I reckon, bit old maybe. If not someone unknown like Gareth said.

Don`t laugh, but I think Hugh Grant could do rather well. It would need a test to see if he could carry off the fights and hard man look. But I think he has got it in him to be a pretty good Bond.
Bond is a public school product, not from the East End, so all the rough hard man types would look out of place. And a set of car ads on US TV do not a Bond make!
Lets hope they do no go down the Dr Who route of screwing up just to be different.
AND lets hope they go back to `The World Is Not Enough` style and not the awful `Die Another Day` tripe.

RE: who should be the new James Bond
Clive Owen would get my vote - I reckon that he is about the right age to play Bond.

Clive "Chancer" Owen would seem to be a pretty good choice IMO, I was pleasently surprised by his performance in The Bourne Identidy.
RE: who should be the new James Bond
Christian Bale, for me. Take him younger, drop the gadgets and let him solve the cases with his own wits/fists. That for me has whats been missing since the connery (and, to a certain extent, Dalton) era. Like the Bourne Identity/Supremacy (it comes to something when a bond inspired film is going in the direction its influence should be going in). Too many gadgets dehumanises the character, makes the plot an excuse to unveil a decive and makes bond just look like a lucky bastard. And actually makes Q branch the hero of the films.
I heard a rumour that they were thinking of going young and basing a film around Bonds graduation from Uni and his induction into the secret services and then going chronologically from there. Could work.

Only problem their is Bond is ex-Royal Navy. The Commander tag is not honorary, but his Navy rank.
And on the subject of a younger Bond, is`nt his name Cody Banks! even if he had to get US citizenship to get the film deal :D :D :D
Actually Cody Banks was`nt a bad film, it was fun seeing all the bondisms seeded about the film.
