Just come across this on a region 1 DVD on Play.com.
Please Note: Regional Coding Enhancement (RCE): has been added by Warner and Columbia to certain Region 1 DVD's. RCE will prevent the DVD from playing on some "Multi-Region" DVD players. If you are in any doubt that your player may not be able to play RCE DVD's, we recommend that you do not order this title, as we are unable to accept returned RCE DVD's.
Could someone clue me in as to wether this genuinely works as a block or is it just a scary notice.

All skill is in vain when an angel p*sses in the flintlock of your musket.
It works (& its not a new thing either) - To get around it you just use your players MR hack to set it to the required Region.

You find that it doesn`t bother some players.
Never had any trouble with my Philips DVD750 and Toshiba SD220
All the best

I never had any trouble with my old Panasonic, my curreny Sony or my French Siltex DVD/DIVX player. Never even had to set the region on them. :D
Get my new Pioneer DV-575A tomorrow so I`ll be testing that.
