A trilogy counts as one DVD? Surely not...

I was wondering why can`t they release a DTS only dvd? Surely then the DTS soundtrack would be alot better than being cramped up with the other soundtracks on the DVD.

Think of all the costs associated with multiple versions of the same thing, especially now you also have to factor in single disc and double disc releases. At least with those, it`s just the packaging you have to change. You start messing around with changing the data on each one and it`s going to get expensive quickly. How many of the DVD viewing public have equipment or the inclination to listen to a DTS soundtrack?

Hero R3. That`s the only DVD I have that I can say I notice a difference between DTS and Dolby. That`s probably because it`s a full bitrate, or so I`ve heard.

Haven`t heard Saving Private Ryan DTS though, but the DD 5.1 is stonking so how much better can DTS be?

they used to do separate dts and dolby dvds. the last one i heard of was road to perdition where the extras were less on dts version so as to make room for the sound itself.

this was a region 1 thing btw. never heard of two different versions in the uk.

MUCH better, awesome in fact. Probably the best DTS soundtrack available IMO.
T2 is very good as well. :)
