I think that the 2-disc edition of Se7en is a waste of money. Why not stick with the original (which incidently, has better packaging). I don`t see why people need SO many extras (MiB, Gladiator, ID4...) when for a cheaper price you get the same movie, plus a good amount of extras. Wading through extras of a film already seen is pointless...stick with the usually decent documentary, interviews, and a good price!
I might agree with you but the quality of the original transfer of Se7en is utter P**H!!
I heard the first version of se7en didn`t have DD audio. Does the 2 disk set have a DD audio track?
Xenon, if you were being sarcastic ignore this rant.
Otherwise, are you mad ?
The first seven DVD was a FLIPPER for god`s sake.
Non-anamorphic video, bad sound. No extras.
Fincher made the film look better than it has ever done before with this new DVD, and the sound is also excellent.
As for the extras, seven has so many themes it deserves the five star treatment.
some films don`t merit extra features so should be cheaper though.
I think Xenon is being sarky, but in case he`s not :
It`s also got a DTS soundtrack too, you know ! (not advertised on the sleeve)
And if you buy it from jungle.com they have the original 1 disc version for £16 and the 2 disc super duper version for only £10 incl p&p.
madness or what.
cheers
Steven
Wow - that`s pretty good. How can I tell the difference between the 1 & 2 disk version? There`s not a lot of detail up on jungle.com info page about the disk.
Hmmm, looks like £16 for the two disk version now!
Ok guys...in the case of Se7en, yes I was being sarcastic. However, I am not in the case of DVD`s such as MiB, where the one disc version is just as good as the two disc, and for a cheaper price. Companies should spend a bit extra, and have two versions of the biggest films, so people can choose. If this had been the case with Gladiator, I don`t know about you, but I would have most certainly opted for the one disc version.
Branching off from the "2 disks and lots of extras" thing...
These two disk versions are quite often called Special Editions. Yet I don`t recall, in the majority of cases, ever seeing a Normal Edition. Just another marketing ploy to draw in the "nerds"?
"Oooooh..special edition! It`s got...oooh...a TRAILER!!"
