Page 1 of Rubbish Quality DVD`s
DVDs & Films Forum
"Breakfast at Tiffany`s" - grain throughout making it virtually impossible to watch. Don`t they ever watch before they copy to DVD`s? Worst quality I have ever seen.
"The Last Emperor SE" - grain again, throughout. Luckily the entire film was made at twilight, so it is not so obvious.
"El Cid" - a nasty 4.3 pan and scan!
Any others we should avoid or at least warned about?
Now you know why we have reviews on this site as well as these forums. :D :D :D

Do Not Be Afraid. That Noise Is Merely The Sound Of My Mind Boggling.
The R1 (only one available) of "The Young Poisoner`s Handbook" is the worst quality ever it looks like the bastard child of a fourth-generation VHS copy and the contents of a hoover bag.

I don`t mind the odd bit of grain, its the signs of compression and macroblocking that eat my lunch, so to speak... :)
RE: Rubbish Quality DVD`s
Somewhat related note: just received R4 "A Bronx Tale". Had previously checked Rewind to make sure that the R4 wasn`t a bad one. Failed however to check that this DVD was the Fox release. It turns out to be the new MRA release in 4:3. >:( >:( >:(

What do they look like? I sometimes get "waves" in dark parts of the DVD`s, especially at the beginning.
RE: Rubbish Quality DVD`s
Army of Darkness (from the Evil Dead boxset) is mixed with what appears to be VHS footage. Just completely s***e.
Here`s Chucky!
Oh and I hate how manufacturers are increasingly cutting corners by not including a chapter slip. C***s can still find it within their hearts to include *advertising* in the box though.

are those not the (pointless) extra scenes?
RE: Rubbish Quality DVD`s
I`m not sure how many of them are extra or not (can`t remember now). But a large portion of it, especially towards the end, is VHS quality. Poor VHS at that.
