why is THE MUMMY RETURNS in the box set cut (12) when the box set is (15) because of the first film. if you look at the BBFC`s web site they could of had a 15`s with out the cut!!!!

Well, The Mummy isn`t DTS, but The Mummy Returns is. The same as the individual films sold separately.

The reason why The Mummy Returns has a 12 rating is because while it`s part of a `15` boxset, it`s also the same film sold on its own for those that don`t want the boxset with a `12` rating. A 12 rated film will sell more easily than a 15 rated one.

Logistically and financially it makes sense to have one version of the film released and lessens the chance of a screw up.

Hope this helps to answer your question.

Anil

Well if it`s anything like the last one they`re going to release `The Mummy Returns` uncut next year therefore making all the people that bought the first, cut, release buy it again if they want to see the full film. They`ve done it before with `The Mummy` and I bet you good money they`ll do it again.

So you can either buy the cut version, wait for the uncut version or buy it uncut abroad today.

Headbutts are the current "no-no" in British releases. Remember when alot of the martial arts weapon usage was cut from Ninja movies years ago. They always have to pick on something it seems.

What utter nonsense. I headbutt at least 4 people every friday night and it never dun me na bovva. In fact I just ran down an old grannie that I became enraged with, so you see the cuts are pointless.

:D

>"the mummy was always uncut"

I could SWEAR you`re wrong - I am almost positive it came out originally with a `12` then a few months back they released it uncut with a `15` certificate.

>"Headbutts are the current "no-no" in British releases"

You`re right - they even cut a Disney film (`Mulan`) for having a headbutt!

With The Mummy it was released in cinemas cut as a 12 but the DVD and video (which came out at same time) were both 15 from the start They used the selling point uncut version (more than you saw at the cinema !)
