Page 1 of Watched Rambo & No Country For Old Men on Bluray

Watched these two Blurays at the weekend- my first Bluray movies. The picture quality on both was top notch, HD stuff is excellent.

Rambo: Very enjoyable, just what you`d expect from a Rambo movie: one man army, massive body count, blood and gore everywhere. I had to go back and watch a couple of the gory bits frame by frame to see how they did them...

NCFOM: A great, great movie. Fairly slow paced but I never thought "I wish this would get going". The character Chigurh is an excellent villain and Tommy Lee jones plays the old sheriff brilliantly.

I watched Speed Racer on Blu Ray yesterday and was absolutely gobsmacked by the sheer brilliance of the picture and the technical mastery of the effects, i havent felt like this watching a film since the original Matrix

You wanna give WALL-E a go. Probably the most impressive disc to date from a technical standpoint.

I had to be sensible and order Wall-E on normal DVD so the kids can watch it in the other room/car/other people`s houses. :(

I watched From Russia With Love on Sunday afternoon on Blu and was in awe at how amazing the Lowry Digital Restoration process has worked! It really must be seen to be believed. The film is about 44/45 years old and it looks fairly modern considering (apart from the obvious dated fashion etc.). It certainly made me want to get all the Connery Bond on BD!

Hoping to get Wall-E for X-mas! If not will pick it up on Boxing Day!!

One thing`s for sure, don`t listen to What Hi-Fi`s editor when it comes to these things. She recently stated that the CE3K Blu-ray is a poor transfer (she actually used the words `Probably one of the most disappointing Blu-rays i`ve seen`) - I guess every HD review site on the web got it wrong then...

Are you honestly saying you have never enjoyed watching a film until BR came along,more likely that SD TV looks s*** on LCD and Plasma and when you put a BR disc on you finaly get a decent picture to watch on it ....

Where in this thread did anyone say that they `never enjoyed watching a film until BR (it`s BD, not BR) came along`? More likely that people appreciate quality now that it`s available.

Been available for years with a CRT and standard DVD`s,you can even see a decent freeview picture with that set up.
