Monsters vs Aliens - 3d, or not 3d...?
Taking the nipper to see this at the weekend, can`t decide whether or not to see it in 3d. He`s 3 and a half... I`ve never seen a film at the pictures in 3d before, would it scare him s***less, or do ya think he`d quite enjoy it?

You gotta go 3d - I`m sure he`d love it. :)

Admit it, you`re taking him along for the excuse. ;)
I`d say brief him beforehand about what to expect and he`ll have a ball.

Have you taken him to see a film at the cinema before? I ask as I took our son a few months back to see Kung Fu Panda on the £1 Saturday matinee. He was 3 1/2 at the time but was asking to go home as it was too loud and big. :(
Is that the time? Damn you PSWii60!!!!

Ok, it IS kinda for me too... but I`m sure he`ll enjoy the film too.
I took him to see Bolt about 6 weeks ago and he loved it. I think I`ll give the 3d a go.
Cheers guys!

Took him yesterday, loved every minute... and loves the glasses too. Weirdo.

so miikeyblue82, I`m in similar position, my boy loves Cars dvd and kung fu panda, but didn`t like Shrek 3d DVD, was it worth the extra cash and did the 3D POP like its supposed to (everything I`ve read has said its impressive)
RE: Monsters vs Aliens - 3d, or not 3d...?
To be honest, I think I expected too much from the 3d. I was expecting it to be in my face for the whole hour and a half, so was a little disappointed that it was only a handful of parts that really stood out. That said, the bits that did stand out really did have me in complete awe, and there were a few gasps from others around the cinema too.
I don`t think though, at 3 and a half, he really noticed that it was different.
I`m glad I paid the extra for myself though. The stuff that was 3D was really good.

Just been with my two mown monsters to the 3D showing of M vs A.
I thought it was a top notch 3D experience. Not just the inevitable in your face bits but the whole film looked great. Even little things like a car pulling up behind some trees and the depth in a lot of scenes was excellent. Glasses didn`t give me a headache although they did hurt my nose a little but I have an odd shaped nose...
The film itself (sans 3D) is pretty standard kids` animation fare these days but certainly in the top quarter of these kind of films. ie much better than Shrek 3, better than Cars but not as good as Invincibles or Finding Nemo (which I saw on TV the other day and I had forgotten how enjoyable a film that is) IMO.
