Page 1 of Universal are to reboot Anne Rice`s Vampire Chronicles

Robert Downey Jnr is to play the vampire Lestat. I can`t see them doing all 10 novels with Downey, he`ll probably jump ship after the third or fourth film, and then give it to someone else who has less charisma, and coolness as the Iron Man himself.

quite pleased about this :) i really liked the first two (even queen of the damned) totaly different styles, interview was heavilly stylised (sp) whilst queen of the damned was a pop movie.

wonder what direction they`ll take on the new one :)

With the best will in the world, no one will agree to a 10 film commitment so I`d say that it will depend on initial success as to how long Downey Jr stays with the gig and who could potentially be interested in taking over.

Not having read the books at all, I`m guessing that there are other recurring characters who may be affected by non-continuity of actors...

I think they`ll make the saga in the style of Twilight, and try and appeal them to a wider audience, I can`t imagine they`ll make it as dark and gothic as the previous movies.

Of course the problem they have with this is the whole-supposed to be age-less. Poor ol Angel suffered from not being a real Vampire.

Oh and last part of Being Human tonight 10.35-yeah for the BBC investing in drama-a secind series is coming soon. Who needs the cinema?

Read Anne Rice and thought of Anneka Rice. Then pondered on how Treasure Hunt gets mixed up with vampires.
