Surround Sound for Gamecube
HI, got my Gamecube last week (awesome piece of kit!) and was wondering how you can hook it up to an amp to get surround sound? I`ve had a shot using the AV lead that you get in the box (tried putting it through my video) but was unsuccessful. My TV doesn`t have any suitable ports on it and I`m a bit stuck as to how to get the sound to work, any ideas? I`ve noticed a couple of leads on the market but they don`t really explain how you hook it up.
Thanks,
Neil.
RE: Surround Sound for Gamecube
* You can use the lead supplied and connect it to Phono Input on your DPL/DD/DTS amp
* You could connect it via the audio outs of a 3rd party GC scart but NO working RGB 3rd party scart lead exists yet so that is not the best option
* Connect the GC via Scart to the TV and then use a Stereo Phono lead from the audio outs on your TV (if you have stereo audio outs on your TV) to your DPL/DD/DTS amp to achieve Surround Sound
To utilise the highest quality audio that the GC can output (Dolby Pro Logic II) then you need an amp that can support this new format. Otherwise you can only utilise standard Dolby Pro Logic.

A *very* belated "Thank you" on this matter. Just got the leads I needed last night and got the whole thing hooked up.
It sounds pretty top notch, can`t wait to hear Resident Evil through it!
Everybody else out there happy with their Gamecubes? Got Pikmin at the weekend, total weirdness with that sprinkle of Nintendo magic. Didn`t have any doubts about the machine as I`ve pretty much bought all the Nintendo machines in the past but I`m really pleased at how well it`s taken off and also that the games are of such a high quality.
Role on Zelda and Mario!
and Metroid........

Talking of Metroid, i think it`s time to bounce the movie thread back to the top og the forum.... :-)

I`ve had my gamecube for two weeks now and I love it!
Desperate for mario, zelda and metroid mind! ( and starfox)
What was that earlier about no 3rd party scart leads working? I bought one but I`m not very happy with it the contrast is too high, is there anything I can do to fix it or should I do what I should have done in the first place and buy an offical one?
