Page 1 of Buying advice for DVD discs

I just ordered an LG 3350e from www.dabs.com after reading a few thread on these boards.

It`s my first DVD so I`d like advice on where to buy DVDs (region 1 and region 2) on the internet and in stores. I will be travelling to the USA several times in the next 18 months, so has anybody any advice on duty-free DVD?

Just to bump this up, I have just ordered the same player from dabs and could do with the same advice.

Have you recieved them yet? Coz I`d like to know if dabs are any good? Anyone have any experience via dabs that they`d like to share?

This is getting off the point isn`t it?

I first used Dabs when I visited them personally about 10 years ago in a "Nissan hut" near Guildford to buy an HP printer. I`ve used them for many years as a PC hardware and software supplier, so I was glad to give them my business with this DVD player.

So back to the point, has anybody got the advice I`m looking for.

Brought my motherboard and graphics cards from dabs (at the time they were the cheapest for both)

PN have a look on the software forum - plenty of suggestions on there - favourites seem to be Play 247 and DVD Box Office for Region 1 discs, tho`.

Tap in Region 1 in the search at the top of the Software forum and you should find plenty of related threads to plough thru !!!

Incidentally Region 2 discs are cheap at Encore Direct at the moment - every order over £10 is free P & P and there`s a whopping (oh yes) 5% off everything until 30th January 2001. Pretty much next day delivery too.
