I just bought Final Destination 2 on Region 1 dvd, when i saw this in the cinema in January i thought it was pants, utter pants( except the amazing opening scene). But when i watched it the other night at home i really enjoyed it, maybe its a watch at home movie? Anyone feel the same about the cinema/dvd enjoyability?

Just for that one more chance syndrome i seem to have! and i did think the crash scene at the start was worthy of a dvd free frame-athon. iTs like Godzilla, i hated it in cinema but didnt half mind it on DVD at all!

I hated the first `LOTR` in the cinema, now love it on DVD. Same goes for the remake of `Ocean`s Eleven`, and two that I didn`t particularly enjoy in the cinema but may like on DVD are the second `LOTR` instalment and `Chicago`.

I`ve always had good judgement on films and I never really change my mind. I find it hard to believe you "hated" a film when you saw it in the cinema and then like it on DVD.

The only recent one I can think of is The Sum Of All Fears. I saw that when the Edinburgh Film Festival was on, so I had been watching and writing about films plus going to work, and when I went to see this film I thought it was boring and I nearly fell asleep. Thus, I thought it to be a bit crap. But my brother bought the DVD and I gave it a second chance and quite liked it. But that was all due to me being a bit knackered when I watched it first time round.

Although I`ve had the opposite effect many times. I used to like Batman Forever. I saw it in the cinema and enjoyed it. But then I saw it on video and I thought "what a piece of sh*t". Then of course, there is Batman & Robin ;)

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, no matter how wrong it is ;-)

ok, maybe hate is too strong a word. more the fact u just didnt enjoy( maybe circumstance). I really enjoyed spiderman in the cinema but when i got it on dvd i just couldnt watch the whole thing without falling asleep!!

The Phantom Menace didn`t seem quite as awful on dvd as it did at the cinema. I`m a Star Wars fan, so buying it on dvd was kinda compulsory...

Your not alone . I remember watching UNBREAKABLE at the cinema and waited and waited for this film to get going . After all it had a superb cast and I really liked the story in the review I read before going to see it . Months later out came the dvd and for some reason I bought it . Watched the film at home and because I had already seen the film I wasn`t expecting as much as I was the first time around . So I really enjoyed it the second time and has since remained in my collection .

I think that when you watch a film for the first time all the hype surrounding the film puts your expectation levels up a bit to much, second time around your more relaxed and can enjoy the film for what it is.....Still might be s*** to you though.

I think Godzilla is a good example.

When I first saw Gladiator (lot of hype surrounding it) I didn`t hate it, but I wasn`t as impressed as I was supposed to have been. Since then, it has become one of my favourite films. There must have been something that made me want to watch it again, which resulted in me realising what a good film it actually is.

When I saw Signs at the cinema, again I wasn`t too impressed. The girlfriend liked it from the word go, so she bought the dvd when it came out. Having watched it again I have enjoyed it more.

Oh, and I remember the first time I saw Independance Day...I thought it was a stinking pile of Hollywood s***e. And nowadays, I realise that I was wrong...I was being way, way, way too complimentary! ;)
