Is anyone else here with Amerada? I guess if you are you will by now have the letter saying that they have been bought by powergen, who are going to increase prices with immediate effect. Great. Any ideas for alternative suppliers? I was on the dual fuel online deal which was the best deal around for ages...

Missed that bit, nothing was mentioned in the paper work they sent me, Ill be off if it doesnt remain competitive, that was the idea in the first place.... cheap gas!

I spent about £10.00 on phone calls trying to find out who supplied my house, I was told it was powergen but it was not on their list, they said ( the house is 3 years old this sept I lived here since August 03 second owner) that I need to find the number for the meter, anyway after tons of s*** I got the plot number of the house and traced the number to the company who supplied me ..yes powergen, in the meantime I had no electric or help from them only the standing charge mounting up on the display.

From September 29 both my gas and electric will come from British Gas, no standing charge and good customer service I doubt if they are the cheapest but what is good customer service worth!

Unfortunately uswitch and the other site keep telling me that the Amerada deal is the best for me. Great. Except that I know that i am going to get charged an extra £36 straight off, and thats before any unit cost price increases.
