I was listening to some Beatles tracks the other day & the second the `Feedback` on `I feel fine` comes on or the Twang of the 12-string guitar on `A Hard Days Night` you know the song. How many other instantly recognisable songs are there? I`m sure there`s many.

Perhaps not as widely recognisable as that, but for me certainly when I hear the first second of organ on `Freebird` by Lynyrd Skynyrd (full version of course) I always know what it is straight away. What a record!! If you`ve not heard it before, download it and make sure you get the full 9 minute version 8)

That`s not the beginning of the tune though...doesn`t the `Formula 1` come half way through? (thinking back years to when I last heard it).
RE: Instantly recognisable record.
Yes, the beginning of The Chain sounds more like the opening to the Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy song by The Eagles, aka Journey of the Sorcerer. :)
Purple Rain by Prince is instantly recognisable...
