So, is this the last we`ll see of the Matrix? (may contain spoilers!)
Revolutions kind of leaves the film quite open for a sequel. The whole "I`m sure we`ll see him again" message at the end of the film made me wonder will we see The Matrix again?
With so many questions left unanswered it almost feels like there should be some kind of extension of the storyline. I don`t know, maybe we were never meant to know all the answers. What do people think?
And what did I think of the film? I liked it, but felt unsatisfied. There`s a lot more I could say but I don`t want to go over things people have already said; I just didn`t feel like it was really a true conclusion to the whole story - I think I felt a little let down being that I loved the original and Reloaded.

List all the things you wanted answers to.
I did this (in my head) and I found out that I didn`t really want to know anymore than I already do. I found Revolutions a little abrupt in how it ended (the film is far too fast paced for it`s own good). The Animatrix (and to a smaller extent, Enter The Matrix) answer pretty much everything worth answering. But if the Wachowski`s tried to explain everything, it would have been even more disappointing because it wouldn`t satisfy everyone. The way Revolutions finished leaves it wide open for a Matrix 4, but it also finished each character`s story quite effectively.
I really like The Matrix and Reloaded, and I believe that Revolutions is just as good. It feels different to the others and the beginning is a little muddled. The film feels too short and the finale with Smith seems like an odd way to end it (although visually the fight is stunning and the music rocks).
Anyway, I`ll see this another few times in the cinema and then buy the DVD. It`s a far more daring film than Reloaded and as such will probably get even more criticism. :/

To be honest, I`d like to sit down with Wachowski`s and just ask why they chose to do play out the final part of the story in that way!

The problem I felt with Revolutions was the way the film was set out; during the attack on Zion we don`t see Trinity or Neo for about 40 minutes; and when we do she dies only 10 minutes later Also, I can`t believe Morpheus wasn`t more involved, being that he was as principle character to as much as an extent as Neo in the original film - I wonder whether Fishburne felt a little cheated with his role? I think I`m maybe finding faults due to not being completely satisfied. It didn`t feel like the film was wrapped up properly; I mean it`s not like I didn`t like it - maybe I felt underwhelmed. It was almost like an anti-climax, I kind of expected Neo to turn up again at the end after being repaired by the robots. It`s not like I wanted a happy Hollywood ending, I just wanted some resolution. Maybe the next one will be called Matrix Resolutions? :D
Some questions then...
[*]Why did we not see more of the Merovignan (did he not tell Neo he`d get his revenge in Reloaded?)
[*]So essentially, Neo had powers inside and outside the Matrix?
[*]Why did Neo let Agent Smith take his body in the end, was it so the computers could destroy him from the inside?
[*]How come Agent Smith could suddenly fly when he never could before?
[*]Why was Monica Belluci`s role so minor?
[*]Why did we not see a return of the twins - I really didn`t think they died?

Also....
1. Are the Architect and the Oracle essentially playing a game of chess, with the whole of the trilogy one move on the part of the Oracle? (thats how I understood the end :/ )
2. If the machines are so wonderfully powerful, why couldn`t they just stick a couple of solar panels up through the blackened sky to get their power. They could then kill everybody, including the humans being used as batteries...then there would be no threat.
3. They never explained why they didn`t have an EMP device in Zion...I know it would knock out their defences but they could get them back again just like in their ships.
4. In fact, why couldn`t they attack the machine city with waves of EMP devices?

I thought he did?
Neo gets trapped in The Matrix and it could have been for a very long time. This was the Merovingian acting out his revenge (sort of :/ ), but Trinity, Morpheus and Seraph saved him. The Merovingian had no further part to play in the story. The same goes for Persephone, which is why Monica Bellucci has nothing more than a glorified cameo.

I think he had a complete connection with the machines and everything about them, which is why he can see them when he is blind.

This would be the biblical aspect of The Matrix coming in to play. Neo sacrifices himself to save mankind. Also, looking at it from a mathematical point of view: The Oracle says that Smith is Neo`s opposite, so if Neo is positive and Smith is negative, when they combine they become neutral, and balance shall be restored to The Matrix again. Quite good if you ask me ;)

As I understood it, only one Smith could fly, and that is the one that was copied over The Oracle, and that is also why he could see the future.

What purpose did they serve to the story? The were just cool henchmen of the Merovingian.

The population of Zion is only 250,000 and I`m guess the machines populate most of the planet as they`ve had plenty of time to do so (so there could be millions, even billions of machines) so it would be a suicidal attempt.

I agree, Matrix Revoulutions will go down as the Tron of the 21st Century, and thats not a good thing.

Well I was really looking forward to this one in a huge way, but now I am going to give this one a HUGE miss.
Everyone hated it except Chewie- which says it all really ;)
Well I think I`ll watch Finding Nemo instead, and then hopefully Indiana Jones dvds and The Hulk tomorrow- but thats if the bastard post office delivery it tho >:(
