It seems I`m the only one who doesn`t "get" this programme. I just don`t get whats funny. Its gone way over my bonce :/

I`m like that with ab fab. not funny at all. written by women for women.

I love bo selecta though. Michael jackson is comedy genuis .

The whole idea of Bo Selecta will still remain a mystery because Leigh Francis, (who plays Avid and all of the main characters), just like Sacha Baron Cohen with Ali G and Borat - has seemed to disappear up his own ass and think it`s ammusing to do every single tv interview as Avid Merrion. This is precisely why i fear Bo Selecta will soon just become irritating, even to it`s biggest fans, (i`m one of them!!). Overkill is the root of all evil..

I believe the idea of Bo Selecta is that Leigh Francis has cleverly blended 2 parts of each characters `real` lives, (apart from the Bear of course), and made them into the characters we know now, but with silly little bits added on for good measure. For example, Michael Jackson, (far far and away one of the funniest tv creations EVER, who couldn`t find that funny?!), was born in the Bronx in New York, so Leigh blends this `Motha F***er`!! attitude with all of MJ`s mannersisms from his most famous songs. Total genius i have to agree and the 2nd series MJ sketches were perhaps the saviour of a very bland and OTT 2nd series..

And the Proper Chrimbo Vid? Well, the video is great, but i can`t help but feel that they`ve really sold out now - i mean, strip away the video and the song is just total, total, utter cack. I`m gutted that Bo Selecta`s fresh comedy has just gone all mainstream tat on us.

Message to Leigh Francis and Spencer Millman if you should ever come to this site; " Please don`t do a 3rd series without thinking hard about it first!! :( "

Fair point Westy - I`d tend to agree. The 2nd series was a bit hit & miss (however the DVD of it is very impressive). The Xmas single is been released on DVD on 15th December, which I think is the only format for it - can`t see it working on the radio. Hopefully Leigh & Spencer will put Avid to bed and create something new for next year (maybe Keith Lemon - The Series :D )
