Mine has to be Lola Rennt (Run Lola Run), quality film with a pumping soundtrack.

have several favourites, but I`d probably opt for the Norwegian film `Elling`, which was shamefully not given a proper release over here, and even more shamefully has not had a decent DVD release, although there`s a rather shoddy R1 out.

My collection

nikita, les visiteurs, city of god, la haine, man bites dog, the idiots, la jettee, loads..:-)

interestingly, I don`t own any of them :-(

Elling looks really good though!

Of all the quality foreign films I have seen over the years, it would be impossible to choose just one. Instead, here is my top 5 in no particular order.

[*] Funny Games - Michael Haneke
[*] The Killer - John Woo
[*] Chungking Express - Wong Kar-wai
[*] Nikita - Luc Besson
[*] Yamakasi - Ariel Zeitoun

I hate choosing just one as well, so for me it`s between Nikita, Woman on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Ringu and The Seven Samurai.

You can get Elling on R2 (see dvdoo.com for example) but it`s a terrible quality DVD.
Absolutely brilliant film nontheless.

Un Coeur En Hiver would be my favourite though.
