Page 1 of Ron Atkinson resigns from ITV after making racist comment

Ex-manager and ITV Sport football pundit Ron Atkinson made the comment after Chelsea`s 3-1 defeat to Monaco, calling Marcel Desailly a "f***ing lazy n*****". :/

He resigned immediately when he discovered his comment had been broadcast.

The man was a legend in his own back room. Doesn`t give any details how he went - did he give a lollipop and then as we say in the game shanked it. He knew more about football than nearly 10% of the population.
Had the dubious pleasure of sitting next to him for a couple of hours and to say he was an idiot is unfair ............................. on idiots.

To paraphrase Big Ron himself, "he`s made a rick".

My favourite Ron phrase was when Merson came back from rehab and he said "I think Merson`s run out of puff" - truly classic ;)

Cannot condone that level of disgraceful racism, however : the man has gone down in my estimation a hundredfold.

Big Ron, overated, how he has blagged his way through about 20 years on ITV says it all about the quality of the ITV Sports management.
