I`m getting married in 12 weeks and counting :o .
I`m getting grief from the other half cause we still don`t have a song yet for the evening reception.
Any suggestions ?

Congratulations!!!

I just got married, 3 weeks and 1 day and counting.

We got round the whole 1st dance song by having a jazz band who just did generic uptemp jazz. As such we couldn`t ask them to play a pop song and nobody could expect us to choose a jazz song as there was no vocalist. Conveniently it meant that we didn`t have to go through the whole first dance announcement too.

In the nd it was the best night i`ve had for ages, the band were great and everyone really enjoyed it.

My best piece of advice for both of you is don`t get caught up in the little things. It`ll cause you both stress over something you won`t even remember a year down the line. Better to enjoy the whole day than to fret whether 1 song is right.

My second best piece of advice is to remmeber you`ll both be the same people the day after the wedding as you were the day before. My husband and I both feel no different, because everything about our relationship at this time in our lives is right for us. A wedding is merely a huge party at which you get to say a few words and go through a bit of legal stuff. But essentially its a huge party - ie.e to be enjoyed.

Just relax and enjoy yourself, the planning takes time but it doesn`t need to be made more stressful by fretting on small details.
