Page 1 of DISAPPOINTMENT…WHY DID I BOTHER?

It’s happened to all of us. We hear about them, they look promising, may have great adulation but when we actually see them they leave us…COLD! Know what I’m talking about? Here are some I’d class as “wanting my money back”, although I should have known better in some instances:

JACOB’S LADDER (Muddled and glum)
THE LAST SEDUCTION (I love film-noir but this was too smug)
THE ENGLISH PATIENT (Overblown, overlong and overindulgent)
GODFATHER 3 (Why even try to follow parts 1 and 2?)
DOUBLE JEOPARDY (Great premise that went horribly wrong!)
ARMAGEDDON (Nothing right about this one!)
ALIEN 3 (See Godfather 3)
SPECIES (Should have been called Faeces!)
END OF DAYS (I can’t believe this is from the man who directed Capricorn One!)
LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS (Style over content)
Both Joel Schumacher’s BATMAN movies (See Godfather 3)

Mystery Men (after all the mag hype - it just wasnt funny)

Hannibal (defines the word average)

Alien Resurrection (im still convinced you can see the actors eyes through the costume of the white alien)

Austin Powers 2 (tired, montonous and if he says "yeah baby" once more ill kill myself)

I was very disappointed when, as a kid, I went backstage to see the star of the show.

He just sat there and said nothing, eyes glazed staring into space. Not a peep out of him.

Agree regarding English Patient and The Thin Blue Line. I`ve had teh english patient for around a year on vhs. (bought for a fiver) and every time i try to watch it, i cant get past the first half hour without falling asleep. Also i had thin red line for 6 months on VHS and the same thing applies. I still aint seen all of it? Armageddon is brilliant. One of the best pure entertainers of all time!!!!!!!! Its so good that even criterion have released it. Lock Stock is also class and i have the vid and have watched it a good 5-6 times without getting bored. I`ve been meaning to upgrade it to dvd but am waiting for the right oppurtunity. The last seduction was quite good. And Alien 3 was average. i aint seen batman 3 but batman 4 was quite good
