On the BBC lunchtime news it was reported that the British Public have pledged £20 million. That`s £5 million more than the Government pledged.

The Daily Record printed a heartbreaking picture today. It showed dozens of bodies lying among the debris.
May they all rest in peace.

Will :(

If you have cash burning in your pocket, instead of that plastic stuff (Old fashioned I know), You can pop into your local bank or Post Office and donate there. They`ll put the money straght into the DEC accounts.

Keep going! we have a population of 60 million in this country so if everyone gave a £1...
If you don`t have much cash to spare buy something from the Charity Shops- a book a pen and keep the cash moving round- or take in your unwanted Christmas gifts.

The uk Gov have now donated £50 million (£35 mill more) to the cause. The Queen has aparently donated a sizable amount (tax deductable no doubt. Sorry but I am a cynic)

All the best,

Each premier league club has chipped in with £50k too. Very generous - shame they couldn`t get each player to donate a weeks wages and really make a difference

I`ve just come back from my friends house in London.

My friend and his sister legged it into the bathroom after the first wave hit their hotel in Sri Lanka. The second wave hit and basically their bathroom got flooded up to the ceiling. He said he was losing consciousness when his sister smashed the window open and the pressure of the water pushed them outside. A few more minutes and he would have been dead. :/

He said the locals were unbelievably helpful - he gashed his leg open and started to lose alot of blood and some guys piggy backed him to the local village doctors. They stitched his leg up. He said there was a woman there on the floor unconcsious and they tried to resuscitate her but she died :( :( :( Really shocking stuff.

The family had lost most of there stuff but they handed over most of their holiday money to the local red cross.

I`ve just given £20 - its not alot i know but it`ll go a long way im sure.

So please try and give something no matter how little....... :(

Neil
