A must win situation, the only problem being that I will have to watch my copy of Traffic after the game (oh dear another late night !!)

its been a while since ive been arsed about england, but with the new breed of optimism even im looking forward to tonight. maybe myself and the Ironduke can join together as one and cheer both man utd and liverpool players together.

only until 10pm tonight though..... ; )

After watching the Psycho documentary on C4 on Monday night (and he remains my number one footballing God, what with me being a Forest fan and seeing how that penalty miss in Italia 90 turned him into the best player Forest had for the following season - awe-inspiring !) my enthusiasm for the England boys has once again been revitalised. I have to admit, I had lost a little faith with them.

However, Erikson`s eternal season ticket to every game in the Premiership has done the world of good, and their performance against Mexico was, in parts, breathtaking.

Good luck lads - every Englishman and woman is behind you tonight.

It must be said that the "Psycho" documentary was seriously good, the respect I have for that man is seriously high, he just seems a real down to earth type of guy. I also found it highly amusing that he had to drink 8 litres of water before he could take a whizz !!! V funny (I don`t think he found it all that funny at the time though!!)

dont you think though that that england fan on the programme was a prick? to me he summed up the `modern day` football fan!

Definitely a prat of the first order - whilst I agreed with some of his sentiments his anti-anything-that-isn`t-English was totally xenophobic and not in keeping with the majority of English football fans.

When Euro 96 came to Nottingham, it was great to mix with people from Croatia and Denmark - dunno about you guys, but I just love to learn about other cultures. These guys were the real McCoy : genuinely nutty about their team, but very approachable and friendly - a joy to be with, it has to be said. Some countries` fans could learn a lot from these people.

I have to say that I will never ever forget Pearce`s penalty against the Spanish - I actually burst into tears, much to the embarrassment of my mates, because I felt every ounce of tension leave my body : it was just sheer relief for the guy : his face after scoring is etched onto my brain, and summed up just what a genuine guy he really is.

Top bloke, and actually very shy when you meet him, unless you find common ground (like The Stranglers) !

I`d give my right arm to have him back at Forest managing the club, this time without interference from Harry Bassett.

Totally agree, that tosser should not have been on the "Psycho" documentary his extremist attitude was definitely not the correct mentality to be shown with regards to the English fan. It may just be me but his comments with regards to the Northern Ireland game were atrocious !!

another thing, i thought whilst it was good, it concentrated a bit too much on his england career. id have liked to have heard more about his time playing for nottingham forest and the various other clubs hes played for. im sure with a personality like his there must have been some hilarious tales to tell.....

I`m not nationalistic, so good luck to England, hope you make it to the finals. BUT lets hear it for the Welsh lads too. Even though we haven`t got a hope in hell of qualifying (again) we`ve got a good young team coming through and I`m hoping we`ll meet England in the next European Championships.
