Camber Sands

Off to Camber Sands and the holiday park at the start of May for a few days - been 20 years since I`ve been to a Pontins/Butlins.

Anyone give me an idea of what they are like - please paint a rosy picture. Ta.

Never stayed as I live about 20 miles away but beach is wonderful, miles and miles of sand when all others in the area are pebble. Watch out for burried Christmas trees - they use them to stabilise the dunes.

Visit Rye if you can, very old and quaint as is Tenterden and the steam railway near there.

Hastings is a good touristy town too.

Been to the beach at Hastings - quite nice - but doubt be able to see much. Am off for a dance weekend (til 5am most mornings) so doubt will be travelling. Should be quaint with electricity meter cards.

I was taken there when I was about 10 (quite a while ago now) my soon to be step sister made me wear white ankle socks to go out in the evening....what a nightmare!

Bargainhunt,

Went to Pontins Camber Sands around 91/92/93 for various rave/dance weekends.

The accomodation then was a bit like Hi De Hi, but we spent most of the night out, then back for few hours sleep and then down to the beach to chill before starting the `raving` again.
There wasn`t much to do `in camp` a swiming pool is about all I can remember.

Should be a good time, you couldn`t go back early to sleep :o as there were plenty of chalet parties happening. Ah the good ol days :D :D
