Page 1 of Commercials on ITVs F1 coverage

[rant mode]When ITV are screening the Champions League, for example, they manage to put commercials before and after each half (about 50 minutes apart), so why they have to put them every 20 or so minutes during a Grand Prix is beyond me. The average race lasts 90 minutes so commercials halfway through wouldn`t be so bad but the way they interrupted the excellent racing in todays Grand Prix is just infuriating.[/rant mode]

Excellent race and this may just alter my position on the new rules slightly.

How rubbish was that!! an excellent battle between Alonso and Schuey, last ten laps was going great, they get to 4 to go and take an ad break!!! When it resumes there on the final lap! Surely thay could have waited.

Just sent them a snotty email, toatally w*** ITV spoiling a great race like that they should be ashamed TOSSERS.
Just when the sport is getting better they shoot themselves in the foot Fcuking idiots

I have just sent the following to the advertising and ITV Talkback departments using the `contact us` facility on the ITV website:

I was extremely disappointed in your coverage of the San Marino Grand Prix in which we had the best racing so far this season whic was shockingly and inexplicably interrupted by a commercial break with only 4 laps to go. I have been very unhappy with the lack of racing that the new rules allow yet, when we get some quality racing today, you ruin it by replacing three tense laps with a commercial break.

I totally agree with you guys. They seemed to think that by simply reshowing the final three laps after the winners had taken to the podium it would make things alright - this is ridiculous.

I must say thought that in all the years ITV have had the rights, this is the first time I remember them having messed up.

Some of the foreign stations have a box in the top left corner quarter of the screen, still showing the race, while the ads are on so you don`t miss anything.
Why can`t they do it here.
No doubt due to an amount of revenue that would be lost.

After years of boredom they must have thought it woudn`t matter where they stuck the commercials, it seems it`s got intresting again....That is until Ferrari get there problems sorted out. :(

That ad break was a good 4 minutes long from the best 5 minutes of F1 for years.
