But surely everyone should be happy BP made 5 billion in 3 months. They are a British company after all.

Perhaps BP should bail out Rover. Then they could change the engines to burn more fuel and make a higher profit on the pumps!

BP only make a penny per liter? so bp have sold 287000000000 litres in 3 months?

If I remember correctly, BP, etc,. only make a penny profit per litre on the pump price. Their real money comes from digging oil out of the ground, piping it to wherever, refining it, and so on.

Surely it will only cost more for those who travel more? I`m up for the scrapping of road tax and the charge to the treasury from the pump. What exactly does this pay for now? I`m pretty sure it doesn`t all go on the roads or they`d be the best in the world by now.
