Just seen this on teletext (:¦ ...had he been ill?

They`ve been looking for `stand in` presenters for a couple of weeks due to his ill health................. but I didn`t realise he was THAT ill!

Liked the bloke, always made me smile! :(

ooer..well, he`d had pneumonia and was recovering from that last I`d heard, so they got a few guest presenters to do Countdown for a couple of weeks.

Just found this


TV presenter Richard Whiteley has died in hospital during a heart operation.The star of Countdown, aged 61, had been suffering from pneumonia.

Shame, seemed a decent bloke. :(
