Sobering thread. Sorry.
We have had births (hooray, a nice thing) on here, but now the other end of the scale.
Several on here, by a recent survey thingy said they had watched someone die.
I have too, and it was probably the most shattering and life changing experience, and one I dread to ever see again.
I did learn one thing from it, the person said it with their dying breath.
That was, life is difficult, tragic and sometimes fun. It is very simple (though we have complicated it), we should do one thing. Help each other through it. Life is much too short to do otherwise.
Did anyone else learn or become aware of anything while helping someone die?

There is a song that always makes me think about death (the song is about death), it is worth a listen because it`s thoughtful and very sad, but reassuring in some ways.
It`s called "For a Dancer" and it`s sung by Jackson Browne...it is an album track, but is available in most places. Give it a listen, maybe it`ll help during some of the more difficult moments.
Neil.

Seen an old lady get killed by a landrover, didnt make we want to sing though. :( :(
by a recent survey thingy
i didn`t even know we still had a poll ? :/ i haven`t seen it for ages.
but in answer to the question i recently watched my mum pass on, & whilst i am very glad i was there for her (pure luck as the hospital had not rang & it was very sudden) i honestly think it will haunt me till the day i die, & the image continues to pop into my head randomley at least once a day, & is just as upseting now as it was the day it happened :(

I know exactly what you mean.
Shattering to the core, isn`t it?
Impossible to "get over it". Just a matter of getting used to it.
Ten years later and still seems like just the other day.

never seen death but seen the dead bodies of my Grandad, Brother and most recently my 6 month old unborn niece........nothing can ever take those memories away......its exactly as you say.......they flash up almost every day at some point.....
I think its quite important that you think about it/experience it though as i does make you think about why we are here....
