nope... but i am looking at 7-10 days in september so any advice would be good for me too... we are looking at 2-3 days in New York, and the rest in Vegas... there are about six of us going, my mate wants to go to a specific hotel in Las Vegas as there is a Startrek Convention on... i have only agreed to go to this if he can guarantee my a private room with 7of9... or Belanna Torres??? or both ??? :D

Expedia have half price rooms if you downgrade to Janeway and Crusher. :D

I went to Vegas and New York to get married about 18 months ago - 5 nights in Vegas and 4 nights in NYC. We stayed at the Luxor in Vegas which was fantastic - it`s at the bottom of the strip but the machines pay out more money if you`re into playing slots and it`s easy to walk to any of the other casinos.
As for NY - we stayed in The Algonquin, a couple of block from Times Square. It`s quite a classy place but very relaxed. The bar/lounge area by reception is great and the central location means you can get anywhere really easily. Highly recommended.
We booked the whole trip with trailfinders - they sorted us out with transfers and everything - made it really easy.

Stayed in Circus Circus out in Vegas. At the time it was a little cheaper than a lot of the others but still only a short walk up the strip to the others.

This will link you to a lot of the Casino/Hotel/Resorts in Vegas where you can check the prices out. Awesome place by the way...

I stayed at the Mandalay Bay in Vegas, excellent hotel definitely recommend it.
In New York I stayed at the Wellington Hotel which is a 2 minute walk from Times Square. It was a resonable hotel, only 3 star I think but the location was excellent.

I did four nights in LV and three in NYC a couple of years ago with the girlfriend at Xmas and it was brilliant. We stayed at the Aladdin in LV and the Time in New York. My GF (ex) is great with money and booked direct through the hotels which turned out to be much cheaper than doing it any other way. lots of the time they have web site only special offers which are worth taking up.
I go quite a bit for work and have stayed in the Belaggio, very nice, and the Venetian, but all the hotels have their merits.. lions, rollercoasters, er clowns..
In New York for work I`ve mostly stayed in Sheratons and Parkers, which are fine, big hotels and offer what you`d expect.
In other news.. Colour me green, I`m jealous!

Stayed in "The Avalon" in New York, great central location, very relaxing & a cracking little bar tagged onto the side of it. The Empire State Bld`g was about 30 seconds away & Times Sq` less than 5 minutes walk. Very clean, very freindly staff & top notch location.
All the best...
