The first time you seriously (got) drunk, at what age & what happened

Following on from Socks thread.

When was the first time you seriously had a few jars & at what age?

I first discovered lager at the age of 13, at my cousins wedding & was encouraged to do so through the course of the reception by all 3* of them. At first they ordered the beer up for me, very shortly however the barmen would just pour for me when I was at the bar.

The reception was in a public hall, not a residence.

I had a few scornfull looks & comments of "disgusting" & "you shouldn`t be drinking that" from the Devon aunts & uncles, who without a hint of irony carried on pouring sherry down my sisters throat & repaid them by being sick in their vicinity.

After that they shut up. :D

*SPOILER:
All three of them were in the Met, two of them were senior officers.

You mean like SERIOUSLY hammered? That was about 5 years ago, but the last time I was p***ed was probably a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday night out.

First time you had a serious drink, either with family or away from family, unless it`s as really really funny I wasn`t specifically aiming at granny gave a sip of her "Watneys" when I was 3.

iirc, i was 16

it was christmas time and me and my mate Jim (rip) bought a four pack of
carlsberg sb, and a small 35cl bottle of smirnoff vodka. we then drank about
a quarter of a tin and topped it up with the vodka....soon enough we were both
pretty mashed and decided to try our luck in the local establishment.

according to eyewitnesses, we drank quite a few bottles of diamond white cider
and various other beverages, some of which i can`t even remember.

how i got home i`ll never know, but when i did awake i found that my hand was stuck
to my pillow due to a gaping wound between my knuckles and a large puddle of
burgundy sick on my bedroom carpet.

i must admit, it did put me off drinking for a while.

........is that gasoline i smell?

About 13. Stole a botle of my dads whisky and went to the park and necked it. I remember being in my aunts house with a bowl in front of me thinking "I don`t need this f***ing bowl" Next morning they could not belive I was up and about like nothing had happened.

All the best,

I was a toddler! (:¦

My dad`s local was a Family Social Club attached to a church, and they allowed children in. From being really small I used to dip my fingers in the head of my dad`s beer! :) So I had a taste for the stuff.

One weekday evening, dad and a mate were up there playing pool (I learned to play pool as a toddler so it wasn`t all negtive there :)) and I was watching them. They`d both left their partialy-drunk pints on the table in front of me. Well I downed them both! I have vivid memories of looking at them through the glass as I was drinking because it covered most of my face!

When they returned I admitted what I did, and dad took me home. Two flights of stone steps led down into the churchyard and I always used to go down them, then run down the churchyard to the wall at the bottom where I used to jump on dad for a piggyback the rest of the journey home. This time I fell straight down the first flight, got up, staggered, and fell down the second flight. Dad rushed through the gate and picked me up.

At home he had a look at me for scrapes in the kitchen and I had a lovely black eye - I then went upstairs and announced to mum (who was in bed, it would have been pretty late!) what I`d done.

She was not pleased! :D

I`d had tipples before, but boringly enough, the first time I got totally hammered was on my 18th birthday. Rather uneventful but i do remember my lips going numb after a couple of shots of Yukon Jack

When I was seven years old, my dad brought home a bottle of cider at Christmas time. He told my mum that it was apple juice. And apple juice is perfectly fine for a growing boy to drink right?

My mum eventually had a couple of sips, then told my dad that the apples had gone off. By which time, I must have drunk half the bottle. At which point I realised that running around in circles was really a lot of fun.

The headache the next morning was exacerbated by the yelling that my mum gave my dad when she found out what cider really was.

About 22, in Oxford Street with my work mates. Completely legless (and quite promiscuous). My first cigarette too, damn it.

The first time I was so drunk I dont remember what happened was when I was 16, I was in digs at a friends parents house and he had a party, a few school friends and his new college mates were there, it was quite a big house and all the rooms downstairs were full with partygoers. after a few beers a friend of mine produced a botle of vodka and a pint glass, filling it to the top he bet me I couldnt down it in one...so I did ...in 7 seconds apparently ..I say apparently as although I remember drinking said pint of vodka, the rest of the night is a tale of myth and folklore and what I know I have only pieced together from eyewitness accounts and the facts my mates mum told me about the fateful night (when she started speaking to me again!)

Apparently after drinking the vodka, I turned into some kind of monster, verbally abusing anyone who dared to talk to me, falling down the stairs (top to bottom....TWICE!) ..so that explained the bruises...had a fight with some gatecrashers..that explained the black eye, sore nose and bashed knuckles...and generally made a total arse of myself. The next thing I remember is throwing up in the bath and my mates sister shouting `hes done it again!` as I threw up all over the bathroom.

I got up the fillowing morning with a bit of a bad head, lots of aches and pains and a VERY frosty atmosphere in the house, and about 3 days later when my mates Mum started speaking to me again I found out the truth....

Ive never been that drunk again and can honestly say never want to again, I dont realy drink much..I go out with friends for a few every few months but only for a few and Ive never toucher vodka since LOL
